Hi everyone, i have been playing normal draft since 2 weeks and i realized that i need to get a mage. Currently have unlocked Morgana and Annie, but morg is always banned and i really dont like annie, just bought her vecause it was 450 IP.

So far the ones that caught my attention are Ahri, Brand, Cassiopeia and Xerath.
Can you pllease tell me which is the strongest pick overall, i played them when they were free but it was a long time ago except for Ahri (last week) and Brand(current rotation)).

If you main them or have some knowledge i would like to hear about the champions that counter them and the ones they counter, and some tricks and tips from personal experience

Thank you everybody

From what I can tell some of the strongest ap-carries around are Cassiopeia, Ahri, Morgana and TF. The first three for easy to play and good kit-synergy. TF for huge burst, godly poke and insane lanepresence after 6.

I am incredibly fond of Brand and I seem to win most lanes with him while also being a factor in teamfights.

If you want to try melee, Fizz and Kassadin are strong choices. Kassadin for the silence, mobility and burst while having a passive that negates some magic damage. Fizz for having huge mobility, burst and a "not targetable" modern and having scaling Mr.

Oh and I forgot, Vladimir. Together with Ryze one of the strongest. Both their "problems" is range and some early game weakness (at least compared to their lategame where they are monsters).

Xerath is incredible strong and underrated.. Seen people 1900+ carrying hard with that champion.

When i played Cassiopeia it wasnt that easy, at lest not as morg. Or may be i was just too noob, perhaps now i can land the full combo, the hardest for me at that time was to land Petrifying Gaze effectively.
I played Kassadin and Fizz but i didnt like them too much, i still prefer the ones i mentioned before.
From all of them which do you think have the most carry potential? and which is more team dependant.

Now that i am playing Brand, sometimes my team´s tanks dont do their job right and i get caught, i die almost instantly because i dont have escape mechanism all my skills are damage spells. With Ahri i was able to last longer thanks to Spirit Rush.

What mage have the best damage with decent survivability

Morgana has inbuilt spellvamp, so does ahri somewhat,Fiz has damage negation in passive and his trollpole. Vlad has pool and HUGE sustain.

Cassio isn't about landing ultimate, it's about wearing them down with q+e until they either back off and give you objective or rush in and then R is easy ;)

As brand and others without pure escape, there are two ways. One, never stand idle while casting. Cast, move, cast move, and other is go balls to the walls if you have a chance of going home winning. Then you can more often than not win the duel and maybe even get the double.

Katarina, but she requires fast reflexes and general knowledge of all champions if you want to be useful with her. Her Death Lotus has really high damage potential, if you can manage to time it correctly.

survivability = Shunpo

Cassiopeia is good, but she's one of the harder mages to do well with
Ahri is a strong pick, but I personally don't like her
Brand is weaker than he used to be, but he can still burst like a baus
Xerath is kinda cool I guess, but don't really have experience on him. I think I played one game, and destroyed everything, but decided he wasn't fun enough for 6300

Tbh, I'd reccomend
Cassiopeia
Ahri
Ryze
Mordekaiser
Vladimir
And of course Evelynn :3

Not really about evelynn though, she's bad :D
