I've reproduced it successfully on 3 Android phones, all using the basic browser on there (not chrome).

I did that test when you asked me to. But just today on my droid razr maxx, I've gotten pumbled by playstore redirects every other page refresh. I just got hit a few moments ago around 8:50ish PDT.




Edit: I literally just went to page one of this thread and got redirected. I even got redirected WHILE doing this edit. Screenshot of redirect http://imgur.com/laymcKM

kindle still doing the same thing it was before (kicking me to the kindle app store from here), but kindles also use an android browser.
