I would actually love that last suggestion to be implemented - people should be able to choose the items that they deem "core" to the build. For example, in the imported Rammus guide I have in my sig, I would probably only highlight Merc Treads and Heart of Gold, and then Randuin's. Everything else is non-core.
In addition, there should probably be a better way to distinguish "finished" and "core" items from regular items. For example, make the icons slightly bigger, or bolden/italicize the names instead of the current white/gray font system, which can be easily ignored.
For the "Rewards for Voting" idea, I think we need some more detail, but it might be a good idea in general, depending on how far these rewards go.

About the first suggestion, to be honest I could easily imagine newcomers start doing a lot of spamvotes on different guides. Fx. checking guides that are already high-voted(In hopes for not being spotted for spamvoting), vote up, and comment "Awesome guide! Enjoyed reading it :)" Even though all they did was stumple upon it, and the fact that you get "rewards" for voting and commenting.
After this would have happened, which I know would, unless some sort of restriction is set, then it would be the "cleaners" of this sites job to remove spamvotes, and thus they would get rewards dispite them already being a Vet, Mod or of the alike? That seems kind of fail, to be honest.
So in all conclusionalizing(Word doesn't exist :D) I think this idea might end up providing more spam than there already is going on on this site. (No, that doesn't mean I think there's a lot).
Note: Excuse my way of expressing myself, I am not trying to start an offensive discussion in any way, I just tend to get a little carried away when giving away my opinion on things ;p

Maybe with the achivement system... but that would lead some ppl for pointless voting just to get something

Spam votes? Ah ok, I can see where you're going but this site literally brethes of the essence of the shallow opinions of the mass users. That's MOBAfire for you :|
If that is already the case, then why make these opinions even more pointless than they might sligtly be already? I really do believe that this kind of reward system would only encourage spam from people on MOBAFire. It could be done, that you would get some sort of achievement from posting posts, but that would on the other end poor'ify(Another unknown word! :O) the quality of the posts written in the topics around the forums. And probably also more threads like "What is your favorite...", where people would just say their thing, and then leave it for awhile. If it's a popular thread, a person may even want to write in it several times just to get a higher number of posts written. :S

i think that maybe some kind of reward for not leaving any games for like a start of 25 games or so reward the players that keep committed even when things are looking bleak. i do know that u get a reward in IP for this but honestly i would think that in game items are more useful than the low amount that u get for not leaving.
You need to log in before commenting.
What if we have some sort of system that unlocks special features of some sort that depends on +1 / -1 votes? It could encourage voting and activity in general. Why stop there? What if we had an experience system for commenting, voting, creating a valid guide, and highlighting insightful/helpful comments? This way we can also promote people to become Veterans who could also get something for fixing bugs, reporting spam builds, etc.
No hurry what-so-ever, just throwing stuff out there.
As some of you already know; the Sight Ward, Vision Ward, and / / are being featured in the items shown on your champions stats if shown late in the build sequence. Now I've dropped the "show optional" and "order depends" suggestions, but I still think we should be able to choose the items that are shown on the champion's stats. That would help people get the correct information, and have a more accurate description of what the itembuild looks like.
