Well, yes there are hard counters in the game, but it is not impossible to win that lane (especially with a couple of ganks). Against zilean... after he bombs you ATTACK him. You MUST make the trade in your favor, and make sure you're standing next to your minions when the bomb goes off, it will make it a lot easier to gank him as he will be overextended. Also, I have found that people who play EXCLUSIVELY in a 3v3 environment usually don't do well in 5v5. It's a completely different metagame, and I've found the best way to learn the game is to play 5v5. On the champions front, if you want to get good quickly then play 1 champion. If you want to have fun, or know more about the game, play multiple champions.

Thanks to The Nameless Bard and Vavena for the sigs!

You need multiple champs in your pocket, you need to have at least 1 person of every type. What if your team needs a tank and you don't have any tanks you're good with?

also, 5v5 is the most played map, it is where most tournaments and ranked play goes on, and it is the standard DotA and HoN map as well; you should really learn 5v5 too.

Thanks to TRUeLM, Plastictree, Scrax, Xiaowiriamu, foggy12, JahGFX, jhoijhoi, msrobinson, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, MissMaw, and me :) for the sigs!
