Kata isn't a good farmer, so you'll have troubles there. Just use your CD's whenever they are ready, and time your auto-hits so that you'll get the last hit :)
I kind of disagree with this. Bouncing Blades makes Kat awesome at farming, especially if timed when 3 or 4 minions have one hit left on them. I'm only lvl 10, but am working my way up according to HeAt's build, and I have no problem getting gold early game.
Unless I make a stupid mistake and get killed a few times before I get my ultimate, then it's tough. But I easily catch up after lvl 6 and can start raping faces.
I became much better once I learned how to play Kat: run in, throw Blades and a few hits, and back out. If you get into trouble, just shunpo to one of your caster minions behind the battle and turret hug or port back if needed.
I also only run in once the other champions back up a bit, then run off when they come in. Kat's super squishy early game, so you have to be really strategic and use good timing to survive, but once you get a good build going the lead you can create just snowballs.
Being able to take 3-4 minions with one ability doesn't make you awesome at farming.
Take Morde for instance, or Morgana, or just pick anyone with low CD's and AOE.
I wouldn't go as far as calling Kata more than an average farmer, as she got low CD's.

Just stay in your lane as much as possible. Don't go back to base to often and don't wait around forever for ganks. This will make you fall behind. As for last hitting with AP, just time your shunpo right and you get a couple minions per wave wit it. The rest is up to your auto attack which can be hard but not too bad.

What makes them great at farming ? I have no experience with those characters so I don't know what their strengths are.
I know Cho'Gath is considered a really good farmer, and the Vorpal Spikes are pretty nice, but the spikes-from-the-ground ability (don't remember the name) doesn't hit a ton of minions. I never got it to hit more than 4 or 5 at once, which isn't too far from Kat's Blades, which hit 6 enemies at once at max level.
Also, is CD cooldown ? Cause Kat's cooldown for Bouncing Blades gets down to under 8 for me every game. Unless Morde's or Morgana's CDs are below or close to that early game, I think it'd be comparing apples to oranges.
Morde got his Siphon of Destruction as well as Creeping Death. Both are AoE (well, SoD is cone, but still..). Also Mace of Spades jumps to nearby enemies.
All of Morde's CD's (except Ulti) are under 9 (or even 7) seconds long. In other words; Spamable.
Morgana got her Tormented Soil, which at lvl three can clear out the entire caster wave.
Her Tormented Soil got 10 second CD, without any CDR.
Yes, CD equals 'Cooldown'.
Again, Katarina isn't more than the average farmer, but an excellent killer. Net yourself first blood, and a couple of kills before lvl 6, and you're good to go!
When playing Katarina I can't say I've ever gotten behind on the levels.

Ok those do sound like perfect abilities for farming.
Though if she's an excellent killer, but not a more than average farmer, what constitutes which ? Isn't farming killing on a big level ? Granted high dmg AoE stuff is better for farming, but if you can throw bouncing blades and take out more than 3 or 4 minions in one go, why would that not be considered farming ? This is of course not counting adding in a shunpo for one kill then auto-attack for another, all within like 2 seconds. Given that at max level the shortest cooldown for Kat I have is about 7 seconds, that's some pretty serious minion killing. Why is that not farming and at what point does it become farming ?

Now I got more question to ask:
I start to wonder around the lane at lv 6-7 hoping to get some kill, but after a while, I ALWAYS find myself fall behind the avg lv, therefore, I have to farm minion and pose myself to gank.
And as you can see, I use a AP build, so my dagger cant farm effeciently.
any suggestion?
