Firstly, you mentioned that AD Carry is where you shine most which is great (everyone has their favorite role). Nevertheless, you most certainly shouldn't forget to abandon the other roles in the game. You'll ideally want to have and play at a reasonable level a few champions at each role (Solo top, Mid AP, AD Range Carry, Support & Jungler). Having this variety of choices makes it so that you don't become "vulnerable" in certain games and that your flexible for the greater good of your team. Some childish people may write the typical "I insert X role or else I troll and feed" if they don't get their way. You'll also want to have a full set of rune pages for said roles.
Don't be afraid to become part of the fringe at times when you deem it necessary. If the enemy team has a Kassadin mid why bother putting an AP mid for him to counter and ride hard on during the laning phase? When you could put an AD range carry or some kind of bruiser.
Possibly most importantly be prepared to "lead" at times. This involves making calls (for example pushing tower at X lane and baron) as well as putting timers for dragon etc. Giving your team direction will help towards the goal (winning of course) as long as its correctly done. ^^
Good luck.

If you see Russians that instantly demand to play only 1 champion, leave queue. Best tip for solo ranked.

Yeap, I agree, make sure that you abandon all the other roles.

If AD is your thing, master last hitting and learn how to position yourself in teamfights and you should gain elo.
Easier said than done though.

This, also map awareness is key, get used to glancing at the map often for champion positions.

dodging the queue lowers your elo by 10 you know right?
When playing ad, try to learn positioning if you didn't do that yet. And try to outplay the opposite laner after some minutes. If that is by sending them out of lane, zoning them or harassing them, its ok. Also read this: http://solomid.net/guides.php?g=9234
