I need some help, and i don't know where to go to. Excuse the length of this, but... yeah, i feel like i suck.

It really feels like I’ve hit “the wall”, yet I’ve never played a single game of ranked. In fact, I’ve only reached level 30 recently and it feels like I have suddenly gotten seriously worse as soon as I’ve gotten to level 30. I can’t be the only person who’s fallen into this, right? Surely?

I don’t know why this has happened, let me explain this the best I can. Suddenly I’m playing very bad games, where i either make stupid decisions, get totally destroyed by whoever I’m against in lane, so stuff like my farm gets denied because I’m too scared to try and fight or I get wounded heavily due to harassment that I have no choice to fall back or I feed the person in lane by making stupid decisions, my “fight or flight” decision making is downright terrible right now because no matter what I do, to either fight or flight will result in me losing out big time with either them getting more creep score without any resistance or a kill under their belt at worse because I was too stupid to persist in staying in lane. Either way, I end up losing the lane and more often than not, lose the game for my team. And I know I’m to blame because I’ve made those stupid decisions.

It doesn’t feel like my positive win/loss ratio was earned, it doesn’t feel like I’m a good enough player to have 139 wins to 129 losses. Looking at that, it’s telling me that I should be at least “decent” enough not to suck. Yet right now, I’ve just played abysmally bad and it’s been like that for a while. I look at the profiles of those I’ve played against and I’ve noticed they, 9 times out of 10 have over 300 wins at least, or something ridiculous like even 1000 wins at some games. So from the word go I’ve basically going to get wrecked due to the amount of experience they have compared to me.

These people also seem to easily beat me with last hitting; recently I suddenly got very conscious about my last hitting. I don’t know what figure I should be aiming for at a certain time. I’ve tried ignoring the enemy at lane but I end up getting my farm denied or even they manage to get more CS than me without doing anything. I try to harass them the same way they do to me and it ends up with me dead without fail.
I also don’t seem to get how to play as Melee champions that well. I bought riven ages ago after refunding Pantheon (because I personally thought he sucked, may buy him again at some point) and again, I get destroyed. This is the same story with anyone who happens to be a Melee. Someone told me that Riven is the counter for Talon. Talon basically destroyed me due to being able to prevent me from getting near my farm, I do not understand how Riven, who is all melee, is supposed to be the counter of someone who can harass with ranged attacks. I was recently in a game against Renekton and got destroyed because he was able to kill me flat in seconds. I didn’t know what to do since he could easily deny Riven’s farm. She cannot be “powerful” late game when there isn’t a late game to speak of. Why? Because I’m at least ¼ of the enemy teams kills. And as I do worse in a match, I really start to lose confidence in myself. Like proper get pissy at my performance. (Luckily not anyone else, I just beat myself up about playing bad). I’m even like this if my team wins but I’ve still preformed like deadweight.

Really, I don’t know what to do, I really do feel like I’ve gotten even worser than before as soon as I reached level 30. I doubt this would be classed as “ELO Hell” but it sure feels like it to me. As I said before I really do feel like the teams deadweight. This is even the case with bots, I’m not kidding. I really do suck at bots that me getting killed by them is a frequent thing.

I need help here; I’m having a very hard time staying positive playing this game, I can’t be the only one who’s had this problem when they just feel like they cannot play this game to save themselves. Is there anyone that can give me some advice? I honestly feel like I don’t know this game suddenly. This is the reason why I'm staying well clear of ranked games, until I'm confident enough to make that jump, but for now. I just cannot do it.

Edit: I didn't realize my first post of Mobafire would be so big, excuse me if this is in the wrong place.

first off # of wins doesn't necessarily translate to greatness...i don't have a lot of wins but I can out play people with 5x as many wins as me. # of wins does usually translate to overall experience though and at level thirty the discrepancy between you and other 30's becomes much larger so you go from playing people who aren't good to people who have a lot of experience which can make you question how good you are.

counter picking only gives you an edge if you are on similar skill levels.... that's why usually you are better off just picking a champ you are good with over picking a champ just to counter pick.

at lvl 30 you shouldn't be getting beat by bots...period....I would say that if you can't win bot games 9/10 you need help...maybe a mentor...something.

I would stay clear of ranked until you can beat bots all the time and you have at least a 50-60% win rate in normals...

in regards to you suddenly feeling awful...well like I said once you hit 30 your matchups change dramatically.

my advice is to watch streams of high level people...I think that along with just playing lots of games (and getting beat) has helped me learn the most....when you get beat...try to figure out why and learn...don't just say I suck and give up...you can even message the person who beat you and ask if they have any advice..if you are lucky they will be nice and help you.

Well, the first thing you did correct was not play ranked. You really shouldn't play ranked until you feel comfortable with normals at Lv30.

But there are a lot more Lv30s who know what they're doing than people under Lv30. That's just a matter of what happens in normals. As per practicing last hitting, do a custom game and aim to last hit 90% of the minions in the first 10 minutes by yourself. Afterwards, grab a friend and tell him to harass you while you CS so you can learn to dodge harass or even counter-harass. And do this with a lot of friends, so you can learn to avoid and counter-harass a variety of champions.

^ This. I will often criticize the enemy support after the match, not because they suck, but because I think that I can help them with playing their champion.

Oh I've been where you've been lol. Let me tell you that it is a phase. A few weeks ago I went through a major losing streak. It was like a 8 game losing streak. My CS was terrible, my mechanics went out the window, and my decision making looked like I was drunk or something.

My advice: take a break for a few days, possibly a week. If you play in this state, you'll do worse because you are PLAYING ON TILT, which makes you perform worse. If you do feel like playing, play Dominion to improve your mechanics with champions you are not confident playing, such as Riven until you calm down.

Your CS does not matter immensely early-game (if you fail at csing early, make it up mid and late-game). What matters is the EXPERIENCE. If you fall behind in experience/levels, your lane opponent basically has items over you due to more health/AD. If your jungler asks you for a smiteless, politely decline as it sets you immensely behind. The power gap of someone reaching level 2 before you is sometimes enough for them to get first blood or scare you once they put you low.

Noob Trabs: Being hyper aggressive or overly passive.
-Basically, you must be flexible. You must know when to be aggressive or when to be passive. If you are losing your lane, DON"T FIGHT. You'll die. Just farm to the point where you aren't a burden.

-Do not play "OP" champions or "counterpick" champions if you are not familiar with them. One game, my teammate picked Shen because he was considered OP. But guess what. He never played Shen and lost his lane, and even botched his ultimate by moving while it was channeling, so it canceled and he never actually teleported to the fight! He would have been better off playing Olaf against the Irelia instead of Shen.

Basically . . . stick to what you know.

Tl;DR - Take a break for a week, stick to champions you know well or you'll do bad with champions you never played as the enemy will be more experienced than you with their own pick. Relax and play with friends for a more relaxed environment.
If I helped you out, +REP me ^_^

Take a break. Bad streaks happen. I occasionally go two or three days where no matter what happens, cannot for the life of me win.

Find a champ who's fun. Not good, or strong, but just straight out fun.

I also just hit 30 recently and found my games much rougher due to the difference in experience. All level 29s have about the same amount of games under their belt, win or lose. Being level 30 with 158 wins against a level 30 with 500+ wins... he's probably played a LOT more than you.

I'd log on and just stare at the screen. I didn't want to start a game because I was so stressed about screwing up and taking flak for 40 minutes from my teammates. Recently, I just went back to one of my first champs (Singed) because he was just Fun. Pros cons, win lose, I just have fun playing him. It's helped take a lot of stress off me that I'm willing to take chancier moves or go crazy in a match. I've also been doing a lot better the last week or so.

Play some bot games or custom games as a refresher (no stress) and remember to just relax and have fun.

First off, it's quality, not quantity that counts. Second, it sounds more that your problem lies in understanding the basics of league of legends. If you're ever up for it, PM me and maybe we can play a game or two, or just talk over skype or something. I'm sure we can help remedy your problem.
If you think I did a good job criticizing a guide or giving helpful info, or for just being a bawz of a bro, rep would be awesome :)

You know, I posted this exact post in the official forums and sure. I got less views here compared to there but so far the responses here have been much better. So I’ll have to thank everyone who's replied so far, it's nice to see some people do care about randomers such as myself who might be put off a little from talking to League's Community in forums. (I mean, let's just face it. It's not exactly got the prettiest picture, almost hostile at times. Just look at the official forums, it's not the nicest place to be really…)

I apologise for sounding so... what's that word? Broken? **** knows, I was in a bit of a panic after having all these **** games and performances, so I wasn’t quite thinking straight. I've calmed down a little since then so I’m able to respond to some of these posts with a clear (enough) conscious. Got **** sleep as usual but that’s normal for me. I don't know how to "switch off" per say, there can be a few things in my mind, not just this.

I think the added stress for me in this game is trying to stay afloat with a few friends of mine who got me in this game. It's personal stuff in my head and I’d rather not go into detail about it as of yet. The added stress of trying to perform the best I can may be the reason why i suffer playing against both humans and bots, as Bioalchemist pointed out, I know i shouldn't be getting killed so often by bots. I have a tendency to kind of give up when something goes remotely bad in this game. I can't stay positive 95% of the time when **** hits the fan.

Then again, I’m very reluctant against playing against bots because the AI sticks to whatever it was programmed to do, unlike a real player that is always going to be random. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and just stick with bots, it won't be as satisfying because, as i said. Bots don't do anything as random as a real person would. But if I’m having trouble with bot's then i have no hope in hell of doing good online. It's a double edged sword really...

I honestly don't think i was expecting the opposition to change so dramatically when i reached level 30. Everything was all fine and dandy before hand and then all the sudden your seeing that 80% of the lobby had at least 300+ wins/600 odd games under their belt after a swift *** kicking is pretty discouraging.

I think my other problem, aside from Last Hitting that will hopefully be sorted out by playing and getting those runes (in which, i think the system is bloody stupid but i'll rant about that when I’m bored and have nothing better to do) is learning some champions. As mentioned before, during the Christmas Rush period (Where I had to reach level 20 just to gift something to a dear friend of mine, stupid logic you have there Riot and **** you for making me worry about that, when I say I get something done I will get it done and all that.) I pretty much mained Ziggs at mid. The reason i ended up shifting away from him was because i thought his Bouncing Bomb skillshots were too unreliable for killing because i just kept missing. Now, I do realise how stupid that is sounding and I’ll see about going back to my Bro Ziggs and get good with the bouncing bombs again.

I ended up maining Jungle Zac when I was near level 30 because; the guy's a petty good jungler and is someone I can easily use. The concern I have with him is that I think his ganking is again, more unreliable as say. Anyone who jungles and has a lunge attack. (Diana is one, Lee Sin would be another but I played about with Diana during her free week and i like her) Perhaps I was a little too kill-hungry. I love Zac's Slingshot and Let's Bounce but his other two attacks just feel weak. The amount of health he has determines how powerful his attacks are, right? I have a feeling that AP stuff doesn’t do anything for him and your supposed to go tanky/bruser.

I have loads of champions I could try and learn, it's just getting the practice. I suppose I’m too busy trying to be a try hard using champions that look reliable to me because the people I play against make it look easy, I really need to stop doing that and just stick with the stuff I know. (The reason why I bought Lux and Ahri for example was because my friend kick’s *** with them. She made it look easy, and then I notice it’s not that, they actually take some practice. Well done Windy, you’ve done another stupid move.)

I know some of the mistakes I’ve done, not all of them. I ended up downloading League Replays so I could study the times where I do massively **** up or watch someone kicking my *** mercilessly. Or for that rare (seriously never going to ****ing happen) Penta Kill (that will never happen, I have a better chance of getting a Nuke in Modern Warfare 2 than that). I think I might take that break just for a few days; I should really listen to my own advice sometimes. I did say I was going to take a break after reaching level 30, why did I not take my own bloody advice? I’ll see what I can do…

Besides, I need to buy more cans of Irn Bru, that **** gets you through all the hardships of this game throws at you. I still wonder why i put myself through the torture sometimes, I can easily compare League of Legends like the Nexus from Demon Soul's, your ****ing binded to it and there is no escaping from the bloody thing... Or, at least that's what it feels like sometimes.

Jesus Tap Dancing Christ, i'm still surprised at how ranty i can get sometimes. Sorry people for making you read all of that... =w='
