I suggest you buy runes at level 20 - they'll give you a significant advantage. Try to buy them based on generalities - for instance, armor/health seals, MR glyphs, health quints, etc. However, when it comes to less general runes (arpen vs mpen reds), buy based on your best/most played champion. Once you have one runebook, then start buying a variety of champions - and maybe create a runebook for one of them.

Id suggest buying a few chars you dont mind playing over and over and over. Then after that buy a rune page for your favorite type of char then buy a couple new chars new rune page new chars.

Thats what i am doing because one you get to lvl 30 like me buying all the champions is big. So get runes earlier will help you.
Thanks to Nameless and Miss Maw

I still don't have a full rune page and i'm still buying champions. I like having everyone. I think it really comes down to preference.

I would always suggest just playing the free champs until you find 1-2 you like and save your IP for runes. General runes at first like someone else said. And once you get a feel for multiple heroes then buy some. Runes are more important. And ALWAYS try a champ before you buy. I have so many I wish I had never bought.

All guides have been archived due to my not being able to play LoL currently. The information is still there and is good but until I return they will be archived. I am able to keep them updated and current though.
