which anime should otg watch?
OTG, I'd honestly suggest Star Driver (links: myanimelist, animenewsnetwork). It's mech-related, recent, and pretty good. I watched it on the recommendation of a friend who is far more into mecha anime than I am, and it's probably the best straight take on mecha that I've ever seen. (Neon Genesis Evangelion being a deconstruction rather than a straight take.)
Sword Art Online is also good, but it's about virtual reality, not mechs.
Shingeki no Kyojin (whose Engrish title I refuse to use) has been having some trouble the last few episodes, so I suggest just reading the manga rather than watching it. I've got a pretty firm theory that it's using mecha tropes, but it's not a mecha series itself. It's firmly dark fantasy.
I'm not even sure which series the "Maou" option is for. That word is used in an average of one anime title per season, the past few years.
Code Ge*** has mechs, but... To be blunt, they're the single worst part of the anime. It's a straight up drama, with supernatural powers and lots of military strategy. The mechs are out of place and done really poorly.
Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? is amusing, but ultimately on the bad side. It's a comedy, has absolutely no mech-related bits anywhere, and is generally outshined by many of the other options on this list.

I haven't seen Star Driver though.
But if you're ever feeling up to reading something then Shingeki No Kyojin is a great choice. By far one of my favorite series, and I've read a lot :D
