Cut it out. You're embarssing me as an American, and as a human being. Who do you think has it right, the illiterate desert nomads that wandered around and died at age 20, or the brilliant scientists of today with infinite resources at their fingertips? All your nomads did was suck and die and scribble some stuff about a sky wizard. But, you have modern science to thank for:

average lifespan tripled
vaccines
electricity
computers
internet
modern farming techniques (most important)
dippin' dots
video games
clean water
modern medicine

Stop using science when it's convenient, and then spit on it and stab it in the back when it conflicts with your views. the awesome thing about science is that it's true if you believe in it or not. If you want to test this, convince yourself that the theory of gravity is 'just a theory' and then jump out a window. Or call germ theory 'hogwash' and drink an ebola sample.

If you want to live in the stone age, put on some deerskin clothes and wander into your nearest forest. Or, you can join us in the 21st century and stop taking your book so literally.

Well, that escalated quickly.

To be fair, you telling them, in more polite terms, to "**** off or believe what I do" is just as intrusive as them saying, "Believe in Jesus because I do"

It's not going to solve anything, never has, and you're not going to change people's beliefs because of it.

I come from a Christian family and I myself am Agnostic. **** shouldn't matter as long as people aren't cramming their beliefs down your throat.

So in that vein, "**** off and continue with life. kthanksbye"

EDIT: Why are you listing "dippin dots" as something amazing? It's just ice cream...
Clean water is an ancient science. Hell, it's barely even science.

Honestly, world would probably be a better place without many of those things...

I mean, for the most part this world is dramatically over populated, and it's getting worse. It sounds aweful to say, but if more people died, then the world would be better off. :/

I'm not saying I want a whole bunch of people to die, but honestly it doesn't look very good for us.

Technological advancements make humans more powerful, and grant them more control of the world. Humans being so powerful is a very bad thing for the planet, considering most humans don't give a damn about it.

I only bring this up because over the weekend, the head of the science commitee in the senate came out saying that evolution and big bang theory were 'lies straight from the pit of hell'

Go america. The head science politician is picking and choosing which science he likes.

Wow, that's quite dumb.

Unless he has evidence supporting it, such claims are ******ed.

Watch the video. just google search 'lies from the pit of hell'
He said he had evidence, but he didn't present any. If he presented evidence proving evolution false he would get a ****ing nobel prize tomorrow.

If creationists show me clear evidence that everything I believe is wrong, then I would believe them.

Until them they amuse me.

(Sorry for not being constructive, everybody may believe whatever he wants, be it thetans and auditing, the spagetthi monster or George W. Bush)

EDIT: If their evidence is what my ex roommate found behind the kitchen furniture- that was 5 year old corncobs, and not the gate to hell -.-

because dippin dots are amazing? obviously

also i have tons of religious friends from all kinds of religions and NONE of them have tried to push their views on me ever

im perfectly fine with people believing what makes them happy just as long as they arnt trying to force their views on me because once that starts ill force my views on them right back

personally myself im not a religious person at all, i dont think i need a god to know you should do right things, i do however believe in things like karma and such, do good and good will come to you
