Searz: Blink is more like the most overrated episode, but people often recommend it to their friends to try and get them started on the series. You might want to watch a more Doctor-centric episode. Blink is a little deceiving since the Doctor is there for about 5% of the episode. Usually he's there 95% of the time. IMO, the Waters of Mars and Vincent and the Doctor are like significantly better than Blink. However, every episode is kinda "different"... There's 1 show runner, but there's a billion writers and directors, so it's very hard to say, "Watch the whole thing if you liked this episode."
Also, OTG, the CGI is always terrible lol. The "goal" of the show is to scare little kids which doesn't require as much effort as the CGI that went into Pacific Rim.

Most of the budget went into pomade for David Tennant's hair.
lol
My family and I also liked Christopher Eccleston the best, unfortunately his time on the show was far too short. Most people who I've spoken to about it in England seem to like David Tennant a lot more though for some reason.
I think the obsession with 11 is a result of the Tumblr thing. Fangirls moved from LJ to Tumblr and now reshare image sets and "funny" lines and **** all day. It's like they're telling themselves they like him because they see him so much on their dashboard, as opposed to actually liking him.

I hated the CGI and other effects at first but now they are rubbing off on me as "novelty" or "so bad they are amazing and will be in my heart forever", so to speak.
