Thanks for the kind words guys :)
We are in a hotel now, going back home in a few hours, insurance is gonna come over and whatnot. Idk if we will sleep there or not tho.

Man, scary ****. Glad to see you're okay, though! :)
Not to try and turn the attention on myself at all, but I had a VERY similar experience about 6-ish years ago (I thinkk...). I was living in Anchorage, AK at the time. We rarely got thunderstorms up there, but during one, lightning actually struck my house, sounded like a ****ing BOMB went off in my attic. Scary thing was, my dad was laying on the couch in the living room, watching Football, and suddenly felt really nauseous, so he went to his room at the back of the house to lay down for a bit. Not 10 minutes past, and lighting struck in my living room, hit that same ******* couch he WOULD have been laying in.
SO ****ing weird how things like these work out, huh?
Yea, we all heard some really loud clicks that kinda sound like when you flick the power box on and off.
And yea, holy **** that is scary. Crazy how things like that can happen, almost like you are subconsciously told to move. How did the lightning strike the couch? It actually went THROUGH the house?
I kinda wish the police officer didn't tell us that our houses woulda blown up if they got there a few minutes later T_T

Yeah, it was pretty gnarly. Had to buy completely new furniture for the entire Living Room, everyyything was wrecked, including LOTS of family pictures, and such that we were storing in a plastic bin ATM :/
But, from what the firemen told us, the lighting "meant"(??) to strike a very large tree in our front yard, which was literally about a foot away from the house. Chopped part of the tree off, went through the roof/attic, started a fire up there, and pretty much ****ed our living room up. Whatever wasn't damaged by the lightning/fire, had CRAZY water damage, from our neighbors who came out to help put the fire out out with hoses, as well as the firemen.
But on the bright side, we were on the Anchorage channel 4 news :D
