Black cleaver stacking used to be THE meta in Season 3, pretty much everyone stacked black cleavers back then, it was also the time when Talon was actually a OP pick due to that only.
Right now it sucks because you need other items to have a well-rounded build as ADC or Bruiser.

Considering how fast I deleted people as Pantheon with two I can only imagine the Taloning. You wouldn't react, you wouldn't even notice, you'd just be dead. And yeah, that's sort of the thing. While Cleaver does give a decent amount of health/ad when stacked I feel more items are needed, considering how long it takes to build one/get the passive off.
Eyy
So you only lost games in S3? :P
I see some junglers getting it because they want to stack penetration. After
Enchantment: Warrior you can get another
The Brutalizer, which is great early game. Later in the game it's a choice between
Youmuu's Ghostblade and
Black Cleaver.
EDIT: To answer your question: I agree with Vynertje. Also,
The Brutalizers don't stack so you'll have to buy them fully in order (well you can stack a few
Ruby Crystals), which is very costly (Recipe Price: 1263).

********'s a pretty good fertilizer
I think that the passive is really situational, only few champs can use it at full efficiency. Because stacking takes time, and by that time you either killed or be killed (by) someone.
Beside that by the time you got full stacks on someone, you'll most likely be on CD on everything (except
Garen,
Wukong,
Urgot,
Pantheon they can stack fast and easy)

That's precisely the point. It might be viable on a few adcs with lots of ad abilities (ez, possibly), but for the most part it's for tons of AD moves top laners.

Do note that getting more
Black Cleaver only lets it stack faster, but not exceed 5 stacks.

"Dealing physical damage to an enemy champion reduces their armor by 5% for 4 seconds. This effect stacks up to 5 times."
That's not a UNIQUE passive, that's just what it does. Which means if you stack them you can deal true damage (after dealing physical damage 5 times beforehand, which isn't hard for some champs). Granted, you'll have three-four Black Cleavers (Depending on your runes/masteries) so there won't be much else to build, and Black Cleavers take a while to build since they cost 3k gold. So, Mobafire, what are your thoughts on viable Cleaver Stacking? I tried it on Pantheon yesterday and a heartseeker strike would render them defeated if it weren't for Flash.
