I think supportive AP-carries like Morgana or Zilean could use Utility better than Offense. They need the cdr more than the dmg to support the team in the lategame.

And Zilean with more EXP, trololol!

for me:

21-0-9 for nukes like Gragas and Annie

9-0-21 for dps casters like Swain

~46 AP....I mean is it a lot? Kind of...On the grand scheme of things though....

Take any base damage ability for a caster...In this instance we will take 250 base damage on an ability with an 80% AP ratio.

250+(.80AP)=Z

614x.8= 491.2+250=741.2

568x.8=454.4+250=704.4

36.8 damage difference....If my math is correct. (assuming all damage is before resists).

Seems like to me that 9/0/21 will still yield more benefits in terms of an entire match, rather than any one part.

And it would appear that, the lower the ratio on an ability the smaller the difference between damage.

614x.7=429.8+250=679.8

568x.7=397.6+250=647.6

difference=32.2 damage difference

(assuming before resistences once again)

So that's taking 21/0/9...The damage difference is minimal at best IMO. ~36 damage is not enough to make me give up move speed/expereince gain/shorter CDs etc. I'm going to stick with 9/0/21

36 damage on one ability... Do casters only use one ability? It adds up.

100+ dmg can actually be very huge in a full burst rotation. You mainly take 21/0/9 to burst down the enemy champ as fast as possible if you hit a specific point.(most time lvl 6)

da neo's Annie guide should show you how much 30-40 ap can do...

Assuming you hit all 4 abilities or even have 4 damaging abilities to use.

In the span of an entire game let's say 45minutes, how often will your abilities be used on enemies compared to creeps?

~10 champ kills and 250cs? Sounds average for a good player. It's too little damage (for me) that won't pay for itself. Whereas the other things gained through utility outweigh the things gained in the offense tree.

It's really preferencethough, I don't see the benefit in it. I'm not saying it might be more worthwhile on other champs, but for the set of champs I play, it really isn't all that enticing.

Well, later in the game, there is Rabadon's Deathcap, too.

Which means the damage will increase even more.^^

I think it's personal preference....

I like 21-0-9 on Karthus but wouldn't take it on Karma or Morgana....

100APx.35=35+100=135APx.8=108 damage

100APx.30=30+100=130x.8=104

A difference of 4 damage. Yup sounds like 21/0/9 is the way to go.....
