Another move to clarify the clear counterplay to this champion: Stay away and you are safe, get close to him and you are dead.

I mean, that's also counterplay for a whole lot of melee champions, and some ranged champions, but okay. You can't really say, "stay away from them, dodge the skillshots and CC them to death," because that's a very broad statement.

Currently, and even with your rework, his counterplay is "stay away from minions or try and 1v1 him so he doesn't have a lot of shield generation places." If you want me to describe counterplay for other melees, other than Irelia, I will. That way you have a decent example of how to describe counterplay.

One of the counterplays i hate most to hear about is: "Get QSS and you can ignore him." This is one of the reasons why I hate that QSS exists, especially in the super cost efficient state low price it is currently.

You can't really ignore him if you get QSS. he still does a pretty good amount of damage. The ult does a good amount of up front damage, all of the skills do pretty good damage in an AoE. He pushes like almost nobody else.

You can't just ignore him once one person gets QSS. He still does things other than have "mister big scary second ADC."

Yeah, I know that, still, I would say, QSS is an item which should be changed so it is exactly the same like Cleanse, replacing Cleanse as a summoner spell (cuz who uses Cleanse anyway?) but turning it into an actual usefull item for specific roles which need it or be removed entirely. It has the factor on it what I call the negative DFG pattern.

DFG was so strong, it caused other champions abilities to be nerfed, the reason why it is removed.

QSS is so strong against certain champions, it causes their abilities to be buffed so you actually have to get the item in order to remove them.

Now, the solution for DFG was to remove the item and bring back some power to the overnerfed champions. the solution for QSS would be to remove it and nerf down the too strong abilities, making it so that one sole item can not kick the butt of your champion.

So, in terms of Mordekaiser this would mean that the efficiency of his ghost gets reduced compared to what it does now. My first attempt for this is to remove the bonus stats Mordekaiser gets, but maybe, that isn't enough yet.

Okay, so we get rid of QSS. That can mean that Malzahar, Warwick and Skarner all see a huge spike in popularity/winrate/etc. because one of their big counter items was removed. Except... they still do things without QSS interfering, so it doesn't really matter. The damage might be toned down a bit on them, but that's it.

WW has the AS boost and never dies. Malz has voidlings and lots of AoE damage. Skarner has tankiness and a bit of CC. One item does mean that someone is "useless because now their ult is stopped!!!!!"

It technically didn't though... Riot said to themselves, "Oh man, this character can get DFG and 1shot almost anyone." And then they nerfed them to the point where that champion basically had to buy it. But, that was only in a combo of DFG+ults. Veigar will 1shot you with W+ult, but he has to have you stand still, or land his stun on you. Syndra will do that too, but she also has to hit you with a ball or two beforehand. When they took DFG out, they nerfed Dark Sphere's damage. Not the "problematic" ult.

It really doesn't. See my first point.

I can't think of any person who has said, "Wow, the ghost is the worst part of his kit. I think it needs to be nerfed." because, truthfully, it doesn't. He's in a weak spot, yes. But that doesn't mean you just give him CC and just drop his damage off a cliff.

The only thing I did was shifting his damage from a poke/burst-ranged playstyle to a melee-go ham playstyle. Cuz, there is no sense behind Pokekaiser designwise. He was originally meant to be a real bruiser (just look at his character design, a giant mace and that is never being used?) and my rework represents that. It even brought back the old feature of bonus shield on E, which even shows more why Mordekaiser was originally designed to be a bruiser.

About QSS, it is more about the debuffs which get removed than the surpressions. It could still remove surpressions. As surpressions are a form of CC, while debuffs aren't.

As I constantly seem to have to say, forcing someone to build QSS is not always a bad thing for you.
