Personally, I use defense tree for some junglers - while it might sound odd, I find it good for ganking because I'm not so squishy/low health right out of the jungle.

Defense is awesome on Udyr. He has trouble jungling otherwise.
It's also pretty good on Olaf, but I don't own him.
