Siphoning Strike is all of Nasus damage and farmed it does freaking damage. Especially in combination with the AD from Fury of the Sands. And this is exactly why items like Shurelya's Battlesong are used on him, he is way different from other bruisers. In fact, you build full tank.

But you will get beat out of lane... SO quickly

Which forces nasus to afk farm for a while, which lets the opposing team to just secure objectives. Not good

Which is the general problem of playing Nasus, together with his kiting problems, which don't allow any squishier builds.
