Your argument would be completely viable, if you understood what an "on-hit chance" meant. Trinity Force's 25% on-hit chance to slow doesn't stack per-hit. What I mean is that when you hit an enemy, there's a 25% chance to slow them; on your next attack, there is also a 25% chance, and on every attack after that. The percent doesn't "stack," meaning your 4th hit won't guarantee a slow (25%+25+25+25=100%). I may be misunderstanding what you meant by you have a greater chance to slow as you hit the enemy more, but I just wanted to clarify your point.
Honestly, it depends on your champ. If you have someone who can make use of the TF proc while chasing, like Olaf/Shyvana/etc, obviously, TF is far better. If you're just trying to beef up while doing damage, FM is better as the third item.

I can remember this was valid few months ago. Warmogs/FM hasn't changed, so whát made Warmogs so viable all of a sudden? x)
