Xerath is quite strange, but I believe he's good.
I'm guessing he's gonna be another Cassiopeia. OP, but hard to play, so loads of scrubs will fail with him.

This is how I feel. My initial reaction to him was that he wasn't good, but I've also seen players dominate as Xerath. Kinda the same as Cassio.
His skill set is solid. His late game is insanity when he gets Void Staff + locus of power spell pen. Nature is not a force that could stop him if you catch my drift.
Also how come no top guides on MOBAfire have DFG in his core. I see top rated players DFG him all the time.

His kit is really good for anti carrying. Just ganna throw that out there again.

How I see it:
He is good with jungler ganks thanks to a fairly easy stun to pull off
his level 6 burst is insane. It is very high, and very fast with a stun to go with it
He can gank bot or top effectively thanks to his range, his stun and AOE damage.
He can cast spells away from team fights
His W is a free void staff, range increase, a free mini ghost, is also completely free to cast, and is on about a 2-3 second cool down at max level depending on if you have blue buff or not
His ult has a very short cool down
other mobafire thoughts on him?
