Teamfight Tactics Patch 13.21 - Multicaster nerfed and Worlds Patch

Challengers are being buffed along with Sorcerers. And most importantly, Multicasters are finally getting gutted. This patch will be the Worlds Patch so find out about the changes ahead of the next competition.

Welcome to the last competitive patch of Runeterra Reforged. Teamfight Tactics Patch 13.21 is also one of the most important patches considering that is the one players will need to learn/study to battle it out in the upcoming Runeterra Reforged Championship.

Understanding the importance of a World Championship, there aren’t going to be wild changes to disturb the meta (And potentially ruin the Tournament experience). Instead, there’s only one big nerf to the most broken comp in Patch 13.20, Multicaster, and a few sets of important buffs to both Sorcerers and Challengers traits/units.

Talking about Worlds, make sure to catch the stream on November 3rd, and watch the best players from each region battle it out to be crowned the World Champion in Runeterra Reforged.

Trait changes

Starting with Multicasters. In the previous patch, the trait was immensely buffed in a way that instantly skyrocketed to the OP tier. And even after nerfs in the 13.20 hotfix patch, it wasn’t enough to bring down the power of this comp.

One composition being the best by far creates an unhealthy state in the game. This situation needs to be prevented in the most important tournament patch.

Vanquisher MulticastersTFT comp

Still strong, not giga busted

Multicaster

  • Reduced Damage: 55/30/25% 55/35/35%

The reduced damage should make Multicasters feel less way powerful. There are more nerfs coming to the units too.

Now let’s move over to the buffs part. Challengers are receiving massive buffs, mostly in the bonus for six Challenger going up by 10%.

This newfound power tied with the buffs to two challenger units is going to make playing Challenger that much more attractive in the upcoming patch.

Challenger

  • Attack Speed: 30/60/95/140% 30/65/105/150%

In a world where 9 Noxus, Demacia, and Shurima dominate, you need to feel bad for Ionia. Well, not anymore with this buff. Which, by the way, it will mean a lot when you consider the buffs Ahri is receiving this patch .

lonia

  • lonia Bonus: 100/200/380% 100/200/425%

Unit changes

Cost 2

Only one nerf to a two-cost, and it is going to be the star of Multicasters, Twisted Fate. This nerf is going to make TF feel more like a 2-cost unit instead of this insane machine stronger than a few 3-cost units (Poor Miss Fortune).

Twisted Fate

  • 185/275/435% to 155/285/380%
  • AOE Delayed Damage

Cost 3

Before continuing with the Multicasters nerfs, let’s get into the Bilgewater unit buffs.

Miss Fortune

  • 10/60 0/50 Mana
  • 225/340/550% → 240/360/580% Spell Damage

Nautilus

  • 35 to 40 Armor & MR
  • 35% to 40% Passive Bonus

These buffs are going to further improve Vertical Bilgewater comps. Spoiler: There are no Nilah nerfs. Expect this composition to rise in power in Patch 13.21.

Such fortune would not be the same as Multicasters 3-costs. Both Vel’Koz and Sona are receiving nerfs, although the harsher ones are directed to the one-eyed nuker.

Sona

  • 180/270/440% →170/255/420% Spell Damage

Vel’Koz

  • 245/365/600% → 220/330/550% Spell Damage

These nerfs next to the ones for Twisted Fate and Multicasters trait are going to significantly drop the power of this comp. One unit that is left untouched is Taliyah so she needs to do the lifting in Patch 13.21.

To finish the 3-cost changes, Darius is receiving a quality of life buff to his recast effectiveness in his 3* version. The buff itself will not make him OP, but, considering the current strength of Noxus, this could be bigger than we thought.

Darius

  • 82/85/90% to 90/95/100%
  • Recast Effectiveness

Cost 4

Prepare for these two Challengers units to take over the meta. These two 4 costs should be a great addition to the following comps.

  • Challengers
  • Void (Kai’Sa)
  • Fiora (Demacia and Slayers with Spat)

Fiora

  • 850 to 950 HP

Kai’Sa

  • 75/111/240% 80/120/240% Spell Damage

The extra HP for Fiora is a buff after the removal of her unvulnerability. The biggest buff is to Kai’Sa damage. Beware of Demacia, Void, and Challenger comps in Patch 13.21.

In terms of nerfs, Sejuani is getting the Passive True damage lowered. Don’t be fooled by the little numbers, this change is big to the Nilah + Sejuani comp and should hinder the effectiveness of this combination.

Sejuani

  • 1.5/1.5/10% → 1/1/10% Passive True Damage

Finally, let’s talk about two buffs, the big Silco one and one bump up for Nasus so he can frontline more reliably.

Silco

  • 0/50 → 0/45 Mana
  • 75/115/425% → 85/125/425% Spell Damage

Sorcerers have not been in the best spot for quite a few patches, and one of the units that are quintessential for their success is Silco.

Considering there’s one sorcerer comp that is slowly rising as one of the most powerful ones, you can bet that Sorcerers is going to be good in Patch 13.21.

You can bet that once these changes go live, this comp will be easily S+ tier (So learn it ahead of time)

Lastly, Nasus is getting more Armor and MR by just 5 more. This change is not huge, but Nasus was already in a good spot and this change combined with the nerfs to other frontline units will leave Nasus as one of THE tanks for this patch.

Nasus

  • 50 to 55 Armor & MR

Cost 5

Bel’Veth is coming back strong as ever (Expect to see her in played in the Runeterra Reforged Championship).

Apart from the buffs to Bel’Veth, there’s going to be a set of smaller buffs to Ahri, Bilgewater Ryze and Piltover Ryze.

Ahri

  • 90/135/1000% → 105/150/1000%
  • Essence Steal Damage

Bel’Veth

  • 50 → 60 Armor & MR
  • 70% → 85% Spell AD%

Bilgewater Ryze

  • 30/100 → 30/90 Mana

Piltover Ryze

  • 30/100 → 30/90 Mana

With the buffs to Sorcerer and Ionia, Ahri is going to be way more contested.

Items

With the meta being dictated by the legends Twisted Fate and URF, there must be something that incentivizes players to go for them.

In the case of Twisted Fate, the sheer strength of a few items, in several units, makes the comps perform much better. An example of this is Blue Buff in the Multicasters carries.

This is in no way something intended in TFT so in this patch a lot of these OP items are getting the Nerf hammer.

Mana Items being too OP

If you played Multicasters, Sorcerers or even the Samira Reroll comp you should know by now that Blue Buff was BIS in their main carries. Shojin? A Joke compared to Blue Buff, this sentiment is the same with Protector’s Vow being fundamental for Jarvan IV, so they are lowering their starting mana.

Also, one item getting a low-key broken buff is Shojin. The extra AD scaling should make this item much more flexible in AD comps, especially to carries that rely on casting abilities to deal most of their damage (Xayah or Aphelios).

Last but not least, adjustments to the radiant version of both the buffed/nerfed items and one set of nerfs to Crownguard and Rapid Light Cannon (Radiant Rapidfire Cannon).

Blue Buff & Blue Blessing

  • Mana: 40 20

Crownguard

  • AP on Shield Break: 40%→ 35%

Protector's Vow

  • Mana: 45 30

Spear of Shojin

  • AD: 15% 25%

Bulwark's Oath (Radiant)

  • Mana: 60 to 30
  • Armor: 20 40

Rapid Lightcannon (Radiant)

  • Attack Speed: 70% → 50%

Spear of Hirana (Radiant)

  • AD: 30% 45%

Augments changes

Rift Walk giving more AP should make Kassadin a tad bit stronger coming into Worlds.

There are not going to be many significant changes to the augments themselves, but, there are going to be a few neat buffs to Parting Gifts and Stellacorn’s Blessing (Targon units ASPD), and nerfs to the almighty Golden Ticket.
