    How can I get better?

I am having issues with the fact that my friends can all climb to gold, etc. and I can't get out of bronze. I feel as if my MMR isn't as high as it should be, can someone give me tips on how to get better?

This is a link to my page on op.gg

Same advice I gave to another person with a similar kind of question.:

So There are some essentials that you need to know and some essentials you need to work on. I'm going to give you constructive criticism and also be completely, if not brutally, honest.

Things You Need To Know And Understand
You are in Bronze and that means you're not playing the best, so your teammates will not be the best.

Your enemies are also in Bronze. They will also not be the best.

No matter how many times you lose, even if your team is really bad, you have to criticize your own mistakes and decision making or you will never climb.

"ELO Hell" is a myth. It does not exist. Don't trick yourself into the mindest that you're just "stuck in ELO Hell".

Things You Need To Improve Upon
If you really want to climb the most important skill you should work on is
Last Hitting. CS can make or break games and is one of the most important aspects of gaining and maintaining a lead. Before playing a game, go into the Practice Tool or a custom game and place yourself against a bot. Go to the bottom lane and practice last hitting minions while being harassed by the enemy bot. You can even practice harassing the enemy bot while last hitting, but DO NOT kill the bot and try not to force it out of lane. Do this for 10 minutes and rate yourself. If you get 50 CS at 10 minutes, you need a lot of work on last hitting. 60 CS at 10mins means you need to practice more. 70 CS is okay, and in Bronze it will likely put you 15+ CS above your opponent at the 10min mark. Ideally you want to get 80 or more CS at 10 minutes. Just keep practicing Last hitting against different bots until you're consistently getting that 70+ CS at 10 minutes and you will see improvement in your rank.

Tying into the first point, you'll also want to research Minion Wave Management. This means knowing how and when to freeze a lane, set a lane to slow push, etc. Proper wave management will allow you to maintain a CS advantage throughout the duration of the game and help you control the lane.

The next thing for you to focus on is Champion Mechanics. Generally it's recommended that if you want to get out of a low rank, you play champs with low mechanical requirements so you can focus on the macro game, but whatever mechanics your champion has you need to be proficient in.

When in game, especially in Bronze, it's not a bad idea to go ahead and mute everyone in the game. This will allow you to focus and take away the possibility of any negative comments in the chat.

Keep your champion pool small. Try to have 3 champions for your main role and 3 for your off role. For all other roles, try to stick to 1 champion. This allows you to minimize the amount of mechanics you need worry about while still leaving you options. I would also recommend that you vary the type of champions in that pool in your main role when you can. For example, if you play mid, maybe try having a pool of an AD Assassin like Talon, an AP burst mage like Annie, and a control mage like Viktor, or for a Top lane example, Garen as an AD Tank, an AP tank like Cho'Gath, and a CC machine like Ornn or Shen. Having the variety allows you to mold your pick to what your team needs so that you don't end up with 4 AD and a support or if your team is lacking CC you can play your CC heavy top laner, etc.

Learn from high level players and incorporate what you learn. Go to champion.gg or here on mobafire, or somewhere reputable and get guides for the champions that are based on high level play. Watch videos of high level play of those champs. There are some things you're just not going to pick up on unless you see it done, so this is how you learn those kinds of things.

As long as you follow this advice, you'll definitely start to climb back up. You might even make it out of Bronze. Some players I'd recommend you watch are SoloRenektonOnly, LL Stylish, Phylol, and Foxdrop. They're all Diamond and above level players and they are very informative.

And here's something I forgot to mention to them. The best way to climb in ranked is to actually play ranked. Basically, play more Ranked games than Normal games. This will allow you to learn in an environment where you can usually be sure the enemy is playing at their best, so you adapt to playing against an optimal build in an optimal place and not some troll build someone decided to do in Norms because they wanted a good laugh. It also allows every win you get to be applied to your MMR and LP. Think about it, if you mostly play normals and you win a lot there, that's potential LP that you could have gotten if they were Ranked wins instead. Even if you don't play more Ranked then Normals, if you play 3 Ranked a day, 5 days a week, that's roughly 600 games if you stick to that from beginning to end of a season. And since you're in Bronze, the best way to look at things is you're already at the bottom, there's no lower tier than Bronze, so you don't really lose anything if you don't win. You can only go up from where you are.

Hopefully this helps and good luck on your climb.

I can immediately notice you need to CS more. You need gold to push advantages.

You should become comfortable with the damage of your abilities and auto-attacks to properly last hit minions. You should also recognize appropriate times to CS and to trade or roam. These topics are too expansive for a single post, for now I'll put bullet-points of some basic rules:

    • If an enemy minion is dying, prioritize last-hitting without pushing.
    • If an enemy is overextended into your minion wave, attempt to poke/trade them.
    • If an ally minion is dying, zone your enemy laner from last hitting without overextending.
    • If you have a lane advantage without jungle pressure, step up and freeze the wave to deny experience.

If you want to watch informative league videos, Leaguecraft 101 is a good start.

You should also play more summoners rift, that's the best way to improve. :)

I suggest sticking to 1 champ you're really comfortable on and 1-2 other champs you play if you cant play that one other champ. Possibly find a duo buddy if you're an ADC main. Listen to some calming music, no point getting mad over team mates who wont change regardless of what you tell them.

and chances are if you just play your best and treat each game like a new game, your score from last game doesn't matter if you fed this game isnt last game and i promise you your team mates dont care if you went 14-2 last round because that wont win them that game.
keep a cool head and don't make your expectations stupidly high or stupidly low, know your limit and stop when you get tilted.

best advice i could give :)

Ik youre not going to want to hear this, but win rates matter. As of right now, in norms and ranked, you only have a 17 win rate on MF. Experiment with other champs, and see if you are better. From what im seeing, veigar is a strong pick for you. Play him more, learn how he works, and when you feel comfortable on him, play him in ranked. This should help you start climbing, and get you off of your losing streak.

    Hope this helps,

ARAMS are pretty good to learn mechanics; dodging and landing skillshots, but Summoners Rift is something quite different. On SR you focus more on cs to get an advantage and turn that into getting objectives. CS is ever so important to get the nexus as you get money and money means items, meaning better stats.

    For top/mid/adc:
Aside from what's been said here already, you could keep track of your cs. For a perfect cs score you'd have 50 at 5 min, 100 at 9 min, 140 ish at 15 min. For now, I'd just stick to get 100 at 10 min and see how far off you are. You could practice farming in practice tool if you're having a hard time.

If you're not getting dominance in lane, play it safe. Make sure the wave doesn't push hard so you won't be an easy gank target and keep wards up. Wards are always nice and on that one, it wouldn't hurt to get at least one control ward. They deny vision, so when playing support, keep one around in case you'll start dragon/herald/baron.

    General:
There are also coaching vids on youtube. They explain a lot of things on a specific champion but also more general stuff that apply to every champ. That helped me to learn how to play a champ effectively.

It takes a lot of practice: realizing that something could be done better, finding what and practicing on that.

Hope this helps a bit, good luck mate!

In addition to BIG DADDY WILL's comment (100% true),

you should focus on one role and have at max 3 champions that you can play good with this role at your elo, this way you will learn better what your champion can and can't do and what is he good against, when you will have enough "micro" skill you will be able to focus on the macro game witch is a very important thing in league of legends.

It's late here so tell me if you want me to explain more the micro-macro idea
