    "Calling" Baron

Hello, guys. Usually when I play with my friends, I make the calls. I know that you should call Baron when you win a big fight, but how to decide is it a good idea or not? I mean, does a "level cap" exist, something like "if you and all your team are above level 10, you should pressure baron and make it? Im kinda confused when should I make it or not. Thanks so much!

There are many situations where you would want your team to force Baron. If you are not level 30 yet, you should play the game more to understand how it goes.
    • Baron is a global objective that takes a lot more effort to kill than dragon; winning a teamfight does not necessarily mean you can go for Baron, as you can easily get executed by it or take so long that the enemy team can respawn and get to the Baron pit to contest it.
    • Both teams should have Baron constantly warded; remember that in a relatively even game, nobody wants to be the first team to start attacking Baron since Baron applies gigantic MR shredding and AD reduction debuffs on people attacking it.

    Therefore, call Baron if:
    • Your team has a numbers advantage over an enemy team (i.e. 2 enemies are dead) such that you cannot lose even if they all-in'd you at Baron.
    • The enemy team is out of position to contest baron (people bot lane with no teleport, defending their base from super minions, or having gone to take dragon) and you can safely take it down without being chunked by poke damage from the enemies who are able to get to the Baron pit.
    • Their jungler is dead (so that they cannot smite-steal it)
    • Your team is significantly ahead in gold/items and can confidently force the enemy to choose between engaging you in a teamfight at Baron or risk losing it.
    • The enemy team's ultimates are on cooldown, preventing them from making a good initiate on your team at Baron.

I think mentioning, that certain team-comps are more suited for risky baron attempts because they can kill him off faster while other compositions are slower and therefor should only contest baron after a very one-sided win in a team-fight prior to baron is also important.

    Basically exactly what Satella said.

Most times you can do baron as a team with average levels of 11~12 but you'll end up really low

Best time to do it is level 14~16 because you'll come out with relatively high health.

And ofcourse some champs help a lot more in killing baron (Kog, Malz, Jax, BOTRK, sustained champs, shield champs, etc)

As for when you basically call it in situations where the enemy cannot stop you /engage on you or kill you afterwards

    this means either
    1) their team is dead
    2) their team has two non-influential members that would die if attempting to intervne
    3) they have key members far away (bot lane, base, etc)
    4) their team is extremely behind

Most times baron attempts are to force enemies to make poor decisions. If they are very behind and you're in a position to do it, they either have to engage a bad fight which you can easily win by disengaging from baron and diverting focus to the teamfight, or leave baron uncontested. Baron steals of course are risks as well, which is why you should get some people to zone out the potential stealers.
