    Udyr top

Is udyr viable top? If so what do I:
    - Build on him
    - What do I max first, 2nd and so on.

    What
    - Runes
    - Masteries
    - Summoner's

    How do I play him:
    - Early
    - Mid
    - Late

    Thx!

It's like what everyone else mentioned. Udyr overall just has issues being a strong pick because he's melee and has no instant gapclose. He's relatively easy to predict and doesn't contribute much because he can't stick to targets as well.

    A lot like Jani said:

It is semi-viable. You can make it work but I would not recommend it.

Core build would be Trinity Force + Mercury's Treads. Other good items are Spirit Visage and Randuin's Omen. After that you can go with more tank items.

Max: Q-W-E or Q-E-W. QWE being the standard.

9/21/0 masteries, Attack damage reds, armor yellows, magic resist blues and ad/lifesteal quints.

You want to stick top and splitpush all day because udyr top is useless in teamfights.

(edit: I've also seen ninja tabi + trinity force + zephyr being used. It works fine but it renders you completely worthless besides the splitpushing)

Is good for jungle udyr since it makes him a bit more tanky, but top udyr wants the added punch and movespeed ;-)

I've seen Contonamor (Challenger streamer on mftv) going Iceborn Gauntlet though. Dunno if it is better than Trinity Force :p

    I usually build:

    Doran's Blade > Ninja Tabi/ Mercury's Treads > Blade of the Ruined King/ Trinity Force > Randuin's Omen/ Spirit Visage > Frozen Heart/ Banshee's Veil

    Something like that

You want to max Wilding Claw and then go for Iron Mantle

    Runes:

    Greater Mark of Attack Damage
    Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist or Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed if you want to roam, 2x Greater Quintessence of Life Steal and Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage if you want some good sustain

    Masteries:

    9/21/0 taking cdr and ad
    21/9/0 almost like adc masteries

    Early:

Use your Wilding Claw's first attack to harass, if you trade sustain with Iron Mantle. Try not to use too much mana

    Mid:

    Roam much

    Late:

    Teamfight or splitpush
