Ah..this has been discussed on the EUW forums for a long time but I figured I'd make a blog post about it here as well.
So basically there have been several times where when EUW server gets problems the players on it don't get any compensation (maybe just an apology of some sort by a Riot employee most likely Ymir) but when NA server has problems the players on it get IP Boosts, RP, etc.
Several weeks ago (during a weekend) EUW had server problems over the course of 2-3 days and there was even an emergency shutdown. We didn't get anything. And just recently (like 2 days ago or something) NA had a server issue cause of a PBE Update for the new ARAM map and they got free IP Boosts.
Seriously..I don't care about the RP/IP Boosts. I've never gotten a lot of rewards while playing League and I'm used to it by now but this isn't about begging for free stuff just cause NA got some. The truth is that NA are treated way better than EUW (and maybe even EUNE..dunno cause I left EUNE like a year ago).
I'm so sick of seeing Reds posting **** on EUW forums. I've seen players asking why NA is treated better and Reds replying with the same bs **** every time that happens. Example:
EUW Player: Can you please answer this question. Why does Riot treat NA better than EUW? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Red: Blah blah blah..some technical details about our work on the servers..blah blah blah..we are aware of the situation and we're working on it. Blah blah blah..blah blah...blah? Thank your for being understanding. We're really sorry about this and we'll work hard to ensure it doesn't happen again.
There is a petition on the EUW forums about better treatment of the server and here is part of what the guy who created the thread said:
Can you really disagree with what he says? I can't. Just because it's a free game that doesn't mean EUW should be treated poorly while NA gets free stuff. How fair is that...

They can do whatever they want but if they keep going like this they'll just lose players. Not me cause League is sort of like a hobby to me so I doubt I'll stop playing even if they don't start treating EUW better but they will lose players for sure if they keep treating the EU servers so poorly.
this happens with a lot of free2play games, but to be honest with how big riot has gotten and how successful they have been it is really only a matter of time before the mighty dollar starts to take precedence over satisfying their entire customer base. For instance...I may be off base but outside of nami all of the champs released during season 3 have been pretty OP...than after everyone sees it and buys the champ they start balancing them...sound like a marketing strategy to you? sure does to me.
Overall the good news is that it wasn't that big of a boost. I am pretty new to the game but my buddy said that they used to have 2X and 3X IP weekends and ****. They haven't had one of those since I started playing. they don't need to attract as many new people now cause they are more mainstream...anyways..I'm rambling now.

Agree: Don't cry if your friend gets what you wanted. Take what you have for granted.
Disagree: It IS unfair, but not to an extent where a change is needed.
Extra: Take what you have for granted. If LoL turns into a monthly subscription, then THAT'S something to ***** about.
Instead of worrying about a small boost, why not enjoy the game and have fun, not think about that +22 bonus ip you'll get.

It's around 400ip, which arn't too much of a big deal.
I'm not trying to criticise you, I'm most prolly more flawed than you are, but try seeing things other peoples ways too, that's all i wanted to tell you.
Oh my..am I dreaming? They actually gave EUW IP boosts as well? Well all I can say is good for them. I hope they will continue to treat NA and EUW (and EUNE I guess) equally. IP Boosts I couldn't care less about them to be honest. Well actually I am spaming normal games to get IP for the Rune Page Sale so they will be helpful but I would have gotten the IP without them anyways. Still it's good to see that they finally gave some attention to EUW as well. Did they give EUNE boosts as well?
You know, this is what I mean.
You wouldn't stop, I wouldn't stop, and most of the other people who play it won't stop.
The only people they might lose are the ones which arn't playing that much anyways, so they don't really matter.
On another note, I'd rather have these problems stop than getting a compensation.
EDIT: Btw, since you haven't spend any money on this game, no offense at all but you can't really say that you'd have the right to chang anything. Sure you can suggest things, and I wouldn't have anything against that, but you really can't say things like "Riot, this is unfair".
You see, riot doesn't mind because if you pay nothing, what do they get from you playing this game? Nothing, right. So while one might just argue now that it's truly unfair that some people who already have a lot of money get more benefits, if they want to survive they have to act like this.

If you ask me Riot are lucky I'm still playing this game. I have a friend who spent a lot of money on the game but the community in ranked just..well..for lack of a better term I'll say "broke" him. I'm not kidding he was raging so hard in his games right before he quit..a few weeks after quitting he said he feels way more relaxed after quitting.
Regarding not buying RP I wouldn't really say this is a good way to defend myself but imo no one can blame me for wanting Riot to treat EUW right. Just because I can't afford RP like others doesn't mean I wouldn't buy some if I had the opportunity. Plus I help Riot in my own way by doing Tribunal cases often so it's not like they get absolutely nothing from me. At least I'm helping them with Tribunal cases.

Glad you understand. About Riot knowing what they are doing..I dunno tbh..guess we'll just have to wait and see but they'll just lose players in EU if they keep going like this. Maybe I'm wrong but again we'll see.

It's human nature to be selfish, and noone can deny that they arn't being selfish in their actions.
Still, those who have the power to chang things (intended), do almost always have most cards in their hands. Why support NA but not EUW? Well, Riot is situated in NA, so they want their people to be happy and productive, and sure they are kinda selfish in their ways like that, but you don't have the power to chang this, so they'll stay streets ahead.

Seems like you're not making the difference between being envious and wanting to be treated equally. To be honest I didn't really pay much attention to this whole thing before but after the 3 day server problems in EUW and the recent free IP Boosts for NA it's hard not to notice it. Just go to the EUW forums and you'll see. There's several threads about this.
Again being envious and wanting to be treated equally aren't the same things. I have no reason to be envious because I don't care about the RP/IP Boosts. They're nice yes but I can keep playing League without them (I've done just that for 3 years).
