"Orianna definitely should go pure AP. She's like Zilean. Champions who CAN support, but are better off played as AP carries. An example of a build would be :
1) boots, 3 hp pots
2) dorans ring x2/3 / catalyst; depending on lane
3) sorc boots
4) deathcap
5) void staff
6) banshee / roa / rylai

"You shouldn't rush a PD because you will simply have less damage output. PD only gives attack speed and crit chance; it doesn't give any AD at all, so you'll only be critting for around 200.
It's better to get a zeal, then get IE, and finish off the PD.
