if you're relying on vorpal spikes for damage you're really not going to hit too many people in the middle of a fight
cho'gath is very easily kited. most, if not all of the melee DPS champions in the game have either a movement speed buff or a distance closer. cho'gath lacks "

"most melee DPS champs tend to have a distance closer. the fact that cho'gath doesn't have one leaves him unreliable as a DPS champ, at best. AP is fine because you've got three huge nukes, two of them AoE. tank is best because of your CC and health. melee DPS I feel is just lacking."

"If you have tons of IP and can afford the standard rune sets (ArP, MPen, AS), then feel free to grab critical strike chance runes.
However, since you're level 20, you definitely don't have these runes yet.
If you plan on maining Tryndamere for a LONG time to come, it's worth it to get critical"
