Intro

What is this ****? Stutter step ? Attack move ? Sounds like a magic trick or new dance game, but it's actually really useful tactic that it's killing me not to see people using these. I think this is quite commonly used among silver at least. I don't know about below 30 lvl or bronze, but I'll just address this to anyone.

Attack move in the other hand I don't think is commonly used at all, which also burns me a little from the inside. I'll explain the following 2 strategies however, so no problem if you are not using them at this very moment. These are basically ADC strategies, but can be applied to all ranged-characters. Melee is not so effective with them.

Stutter step/Orb walking

This is really easily explained and won't require wall of text. The general idea is to attack between attack animations. Some of you already know, but you can release basic attack before attack animation is finished. This means you get more time to move between auto attacks. To put it really simple: Your auto attack animation takes 1.5 second, but you can get the auto-attack off already at 1 second, leaving you 0.5 spare time to move towards enemy. So you get 4 basic attacks where you normally would maybe get 2 towards escaping enemy. This is really useful and important skill to learn. Here, let Curse Cop show you:

Attack move

Attack move is binded to keys Shift + Right click or A + Right click. (You can make it another key from in-game > Options > Key bindings > Attack move. Attack move makes your character attack the closest neutral/enemy opponent no matter wether it is a minion or champion or dragon for example. If there are nothing to attack on, you will simply just walk to the target position like normal right click. However: If you use it inside a bush and you gain vision on a target, it will attack it automatically making juking extremely difficult.

Normally you would need reaction time to attack on the enemy and you may even miss the click, if enemy moves fast enough or uses blink ability like Flash. With attack move you won't have this problem. This is only one benefit of it. It's also great kiting tool. I'll explain further advantage and uses here;

1. As I said. It is great tool to counter jukes and blink abilities in situations where you go 1v1 or go check inside a bush. It does not function if you have minion lane nearby where you may accidently attack the closest minion instead of champion.

2. Attack move allows you to kite more effectively. Let's say you are around dragon, kiting enemy mid laner while running down towards bot lane. Normally you would have to press right click to attack the enemy. Then right click behind you again to maintain the gap between. Then you repeat the same, but what this costs is precious time and risk of you missclicking and WALKING towards your opponent in stead of attacking, causing you to die.

With attack move, you can keep aiming towards bot lane, not having to aim at the opponent, but to press SHIFT + Right click behind you and you will automatically auto attack without chance of missing. Then you just do normal right click to move towards bot lane and once auto attack resets, press SHIFT + Right click again to land auto attack. So you are taking advantage of both, stutter step and attack move in this situation. It saves you time and steps + less risk to miss.

3. It allows somewhat safer poking when pushing enemies to tower. With attack move you can continue poking the closest enemy without accidently going under tower. This must be done within caution of course.

4. Great in 1v1 situations. Especially if your opponent doesn't use this. Let's say the enemy has higher attack speed, but you have bought more AD. You can take advantage of two bot lane bushes (in case they're not warded..) and go inside a bush, attack move outside of the bush almost guranteeing first hit. Then you go to the upper bush again and gurantee second first hit, disabling the opponent to take advantage of higher attack speed. This can be done in any area that allows you to get rid of vision in open area.
