"Yes. He's always been viable. Ganking is his real problem. He needs the constant ganks.
Semi-related note: Because the mana costs on his skills have gone down a bit, he is less dependent on blue and can lane quite well if he's paired with a support."

I'm not sure if the extra damage on TTS is physical or magical, I'm pretty sure it's physical though.
Yes. All three of those will activate Frozen Mallet if you have it as they are regular attacks. Just with a bonus."
