I've almost finished writing my highelo pro 360 mlg noscope snipez guide and Mowen came up with a super awesome secret genius name, so I will be releasing it on the 22nd of December. This is the same date I released my original guide. Hopefully the world doesn't end or I guess all this effort was for nothing. It also happens to be my lovely assistant/prettyfication person MissMaw's birthday. <3

Yeah, though it's worth bearing in mind the win rate data isn't always accurate because people are more inclined to not give a **** and build whatever they want when they're really far ahead. For instance, S2 Tiamat actually had one of the highest winrates of any item because most of the time people only built it when they were so far ahead they could afford to troll and still win.

I played against an who rushed Shiv earlier and I can't say I was particularly impressed by it.

I acknowledge the idea, but my past 4 games as AD carry, 2 of them I've had QSS/GA.

Also higher ELO supports = "Support" Olaf with "AD Carry" Jarvan bottom, Zyra with a Zhonya's, and instead of the Tear the Sona's build Liandry's.

And I'm only an 1800 nooblord atm. I've been avoiding ranked like a plague after the Black Cleaver mess.

Anyway this might be interesting to you:

2k ELO Ashe = more Shivs than PDs, and the ones who build Shiv have a higher win rate then the ones who build PD. 2k ELO Cait has more PDs than Shivs, but she has a higher win rate with Shiv.

That's what I thought was insinuated within your rationale. It's always interesting to read the ideas and thoughts of a high elo player and compare them with my own. Helps me understand the game from a high elo perspective, wherein supports play supports and don't buy Archangel's Staff on Sona first item.

Yes, playing the game as a team game is different, but at no time did I say, "This is like 500% of the time always better because supports use Heal and rush Crucible/Locket and can protect you now."

? You think it's better to buy SS and PD instead of grabbing a defensive item like GA or MS? The support can't just apply Crucible to the ADC every fight when it's just as useful on an initiating tank or APC who has to get in the midst of a fight to do work (Morgana). Locket shield may be useful for resetting a teamfight for the time it is up, but there's no way you can rely on a support to shield YOU as the ADC when you need it and them not waiting for the "opportune moment to shield for as much damage as possible for the entire team".

I guess that's the difference. If you are playing with a team and you all know your limits, you can build glass cannon PD and SS. But if you're solo queue? No way.

I was talking in general and not necessarily about Cait (though Shiv seems to be built most on Ashes and Caits). I've seen some go Shiv early for laning and being able to poke the enemy backline in Mexican standoffs, then PD later in place of GA/MS/BV if they are dominant, and they end up using the extra 6% movespeed as their "defensive" mechanism to kite and position well. I suppose this is made possible by , and also the introduction of and the current "build before it gets nerfed" trend on supports.

Pretty much. A person who has no idea about attack move or animation cancelling and doesn't position themselves well is gonna stack it super slow and not get much use out of the lightning passive.

Personally I think it's a great item if you buy it early/mid game. (And there's always the option of building it in addition to PD, rather than in place of.)

I wasn't sure about putting it on there at all but people keep telling me it's pretty good. I tried it out a couple games and it seemed alright but I didn't really like it as much as PD.

Why exactly does it require a mechanics lesson and other items don't though? Because it charges up on movement? It also pushes the lane but that's generally not an issue by the time you can afford it.
