Hey guys,

I know that I haven't been active on the forums or guides for a long time, so many of you may not know me, but I wanted to share this for those that have been around long enough to remember me.

I started out on MOBAFire as a guide writer, then a moderator, and then was lucky enough to get offered a job in 2012 as the MOBAFire Community Manager. Now, over 10 years later, I’ll be stepping down as Product Owner.

I started out moderating forums, cleaning up spam, and organizing inhouses. I was lucky enough for my bosses to believe in me and let me take on more and more responsibility. I read so many books to learn how to be a Project Manager, and got to do just that. MOBAFire may be a huge site, but the team that makes it is pretty small and scrappy. I loved that, and I loved being able to learn to do a lot of things and wear a lot of hats. Unfortunately though, it’s time for me to say goodbye to the MOBAFire team.

As some of you may know, I have always been passionate about art. Even though I’m sad to be leaving MOBAFire, I am excited to be starting a new journey. Next week I will be starting my dream job, making art for video games. I am joining Blizzard as an Associate Environment Artist, and I will be making 3D art for World of Warcraft!

WoW themed project I made during my 3D art class

I’ve never quit working on my art, and have been slowly building up my portfolio. Historically I have mostly done 2D art, but I’ve always been interested in 3D art and have dabbled with it for quite a while. Last year I took the plunge and finally took a proper 3D art class and totally fell in love with it. I really enjoy the mix of technical and art challenges, and of course I am super excited by the idea that something I made would go directly into the game. I saw a job posting that fit what I wanted to do, took a chance, and to my complete astoundment I landed the job!

Working at MOBAFire has been awesome, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to work with. Hades has done a fantastic job watching over the MOBAFire community, and I know MOBAFire will be left in capable hands.

I also know that what makes MOBAFire truly special is you guys. People who put their heart and soul into helping other people. It’s been great to see all the creative ways the MOBAFire community has found to help new players and build something wonderful.

I still have this blog bookmarked on my computer, and it makes me tear up every time. I loved helping people and being a positive impact on the community, and somebody noticed that. I think that’s what I’ll miss the most about MOBAFire.

I'm not on social media too much, but I do have a Twitter, and you can also see my portfolio on Artstation. You can also find me on the MOBAFire Discord, which I will probably stay in for a while, but since I don't really play LoL any more I don't usually have too much to say!

Thank you to everyone who has touched my life during my time at MOBAFire. I made a lot of friends during my time here, from all over the world, and I got to game with a lot of great people. I will always cherish the time I spent on this site, both as an author and as a community manager.

Signing off for the last time,

- Mowen <3
