Alright, this is my first blog post, and it's gonna be a average length one. I hope it doesn't get delisted by stupid troll blogs which are basically no-pointers saying something about their random team or just asfsafasd and done. At the start of the season(the end of season 2), I was 850 elo(peak 1222, so I got silver border), and I think I may even be lower than that. Now, I'm Gold 3, and getting myself a Victorious Elise skin. This will be a pretty big summary of what happened in my climb during Season 3.

I had 3 goals in Season 3:
1. Hit Gold
2. Improve as a player
3. Have fun

Start of Season: 10 Provisional Matches.

All I remember was that I used to be a top main, which I eventually found out to be my worst role. The elo of people in the Garena server was absolutely HORRENDOUS at the end of season 2, with like the 100th top ranked person having around 1650 elo if I'm not wrong.

I won 5 games and lost 4 going into my 10th provisional match. I didn't do that well during my provisional matches(i.e. getting carried and having horrendous KDAs and stuff). I knew that I had to win my 10th match, which I did, and getting into Silver 5. I was already happy then since I managed to evade the Bronze life.

December 2012 to May 2013-Silver 5 misery.

I was initially happy with Silver 5, but then I wanted to climb. I knew that I had to improve, but it seemed like it was because of my team that I just kept losing, and even if I won, it would only be like 1-2 games before I went back to losing ways. I would regularly hover around 0-40 LP, and I just got increasingly frustrated at my ranked failures every game.

I decided to take a short break by playing 2 weeks of only normal games. It turned out I was more relaxed, I tried out more roles and found my next main roles, Marksman and Support, and after those 2 weeks I returned to ranked. It turned out that the change was kinda effective, as I hit my first promotion series, which I lost 0-2. I was happier than before as I didn't languish at the bottom of Silver 5(I had a veteran logo already), but I know that there was still a long way to go before I hit gold.

I then proceeded to fail 6 other promotion series before I made it to silver 4.

May 2013-midOctober 2013: The Climb to Silver 1

I got to Silver 4, but not for long! After 5 games I got demoted to silver 5, however I climbed back up again really quickly. In my climb to silver 1, I was mainly stuck in silver 4 and silver 2. I soon realized that I should really specialize in jungle, cause after countless games where I was forced into that role, I excelled in a lot of games. I started looking at so many Stonewall and Trick2g videos to get more knowledge of jungle (I actually subscribed to Trick2g for his pwnage vids in like September 2012, I didn't really pay attention to him much but after seeing so many jungle videos I learnt so so much from Trick2g). I took up 0-9-21 masteries for my usual junglers, and needless to say that got me all the way to silver 2. However, I was stuck there. I was very inconsistent, I could carry really hard one game before feeding doublebuffs and not hitting lvl 6 at 11 minutes the next. That was when I decided that I had to do something out of the ordinary, and one fateful game where I was initially forced to AD carry Ezreal before someone who called jungle instalocked Caitlyn really turned the tides for me. I absolutely dominated the jungle game, even though I already had a lot of experience theorycrafting and practicing jungle Ezreal in normals, I wasn't confident I could do well in ranked, but I did, and I climbed really fast.

mid October-25th October 2013: Silver 1 and GOLD 5

I said I took 9 games of jungle Ezreal, but that was actually the number of games it took for me to reach promos to gold.

My first game was a Kayle mid game. I wanted to counter Zed(stupid me), but I learnt the really hard way that hitting early lvl 2/lvl 6 was really important, and I knew that I had lost the game for my team by snowballing Zed out of control (I was 1-6-1 that match- Zed was 15-1-4).

My second game was me getting jungle, and seeing that they had a really strong frontline (I was purple side last pick), I picked Sejuani to counter their team composition. It turned out to be a game-deciding decision, as even though we lost the laning phase, my 3 5-man Glacial Prisons in the 3 crucial fights turned the tables in our favour, as we managed to take an inhibitor, Baron and the game from these 3 fights.

My third game was a Nocturne jungle game. It was not really a game to note though, it was a 20 minute stomp. Basically I camped mid, getting our mid Talon 3 kills EACH on the jungler and midlaner (I died twice) in 7 minutes. Needless to say a fed Talon means death, and he was obviously reading Vapora Dark's Talon guide as at 19 minutes he had Mobility Boots, Last Whisper, Youmuu's Ghostblade, The Brutalizer and a B.F. Sword, 15 kills AND 150 farm, which was absolutely insane. Not to mention the enemy were spamming "/ff at 20" constantly.

My fourth game was a one hour game. I was playing Vi. After a horrendous early-mid game, we were losing really really hard, and from my LoL experiences this was the best game and the biggest comeback I ever had. With only a naked nexus at the 35 minute mark, we had to constantly defend and had to win fights JUST to drive them off our base. Somehow, with only our nexus left, we just kept winning, and winning, and winning teamfights. When the game reached the 59 minute mark, we fought our last teamfight with 3 inhibitors respawned. Ahri caught Caitlyn, their uber fed carry out at our bluebuff, and I immediately initiated on Orianna. Riven proceeded to DELETE Orianna before we absolutely demolished them 5-0 in the last teamfight. The stats at the bottom shows it all.

Presently, I'm Gold 3, 0 LP. I stopped here cause I am content with where I am, and I want to get ready for season 4. Here are a few takeaways I received from my ELO grind:

1. Look at what YOU could have done (NOT COULD OF, COULD OF IS JUST BROKEN ENGLISH AT ITS WORST). Stop blaming your teammates. Even though it is a team game, every game is different. Look what you could've done to potentially win the game. Not all games are winnable, I know, but there are times where you can possibly change the game into your favour, even though you may be losing. You may go 20-1-10 in a match, but that one death could have been the reason why your team lost.

2. Players generally make better decisions in gold. Gold players make more consistent and better decisions than silver players, and they are not as likely to throw leads as compared to silver players. This is something I had learnt the hard way, only when I made better calls did I actually see the impact it had on a game.

3. Have fun, and treat every game like a new one. Even if the player from last match fed, it doesn't mean he will feed the next time. Too often I see players who lose a match and proceed to let that match affect their thoughts in the next immediate match. This is the exact catalyst to losing streaks, and you really have to take a 5-10 minutes break between each losing match to prevent that from happening again.

Hope this has been a meaningful read, and I'll be away from the 10th to the 14th (or the 11th to the 15th here) of October, so I won't post anything till then.
