If you haven’t been paying attention to the Zoe Quinn debacle, feel free to place your head firmly back under your rock. For everyone else, I’d like to give my thoughts on ZQ, and the failures of social justice and modern feminism in this situation.
So wading through the firestorm, we have ZQ committing some mortal sins. First off, she threw an entire community of harmless, docile men under the bus to further her agenda. If you’re never heard of wizardchan, google it and go there. Especially the v9k board. I explored it when this case came out, and this is a board primarily for 30+ y/o kissless virgins. They like to talk about how they are so depressed and riddled with anxiety that they can’t even go outside. On one side, you have ZQ alleging harassment from this board of kissless virgins. On the other side, you have this totally innocuous board that has no history of raids or harassment responding with, ‘Uh, we just talk about being depressed. We don’t harass random SJW indie game devs’. Mortal sin #1; stepping all over hundreds of pathetic people to boost your sales on steam.
So ZQ has been outed as a **** and a cheater who used sex to garner positive journalism from no less than 5 gaming journalists. My only response is that we’re all given a few special skills with which to claw our way to the top in this rat race. She chose to try to **** her way to the top. I don’t hold that against her one bit, and actually, having seen her nudes (readily available and leaked after the firestorm started) I have to congratulate her on somehow seducing FIVE MEN with her disgusting, pasty body. However, she ****ed these men while dating a guy, making her a cheating ****. This isn’t a mortal sin, however, just par for the course sometimes.
ZQ has gotten a lot of vitriol on social media. ZQ has issued a false DMCA takedown notice on a few videos that have reviewed her game, or are talking about the firestorm. ZQ has talked to mods on reddit who then started deleting all traces of ZQ threads and then started shadowbanning people in the name of ‘HARAZZMENT EVIL MEN STRONG INDEPENDENT WEMENS’. Mortal sin #2; Censorship.
There was some issue with a company and a contest they were running that ZQ obliterated because she wouldn’t have gotten paid, but I don’t really have any facts on this and I don’t quite understand what went on myself so I can’t comment. If she sunk a company running a program for charity because she is a greedy little pig, then mortal sin blah blah.
I’d like to address the real pimple on this giant ***. None of this would even exist if SJWs, and tumblr feminists weren’t delusional, awful human beings. The professional victimhood of today’s feminists makes me nauseous. Here’s the chain of causality; Woman does/says dumb thing -> Backlash -> harassment! If anyone thinks I have it all wrong, or they’d like to defend feminism, ZQ, or SJWs at large and can offer a fresh perspective, please tell me. When I talk with people about these topics, either nobody has any idea what I’m talking about, or they will just call me a ‘****lord(?)’ and tell me to check my privilege.

@james god, **** off. If you disapprove of the ratio, to make your own ****in game. Do you know who buy more video games? MEEEEEEEEEN. You ****in schmuck. Games are made to cater to their audience. Which 9 times out of 10, is a ****IN'. MAN.
9 out of 10 is horribly off (5.3 out of 10 would be more accurate), and doesn't that kind of just prove the point that video game developers are ignoring their female demographic? And fyi, not everyone is a developer in a well-established gaming company with all of the funds and resources to make their 'own ****ing game' on a whim that would make any source of impact whatsoever.

@Representation of females in video games... it's not bad at all. Plenty of strong female leads, well, other than the fact that they're over-sexualized (which does not cater to me, if I want bigtitted milfs I'd just watch porn)
I'd like to see some more elegant looking females without gigantic proportions and preferably with proper anatomy, but other than that everything is fine.

^ Very good point there. We've had a huge surge in strong female characters over the past decade, and we've had female characters that can throw down with the best for ages. The sexualized stereotypes are still pretty prevalent, but even that is on a decline. It might not be too steep a decline, but it's there. Heck, if we want to point out a strong, female character: Wonder Woman. There's an old example.

Let's get a list of all male video game characters and make a comparison! There are thousands and thousands of video games, and just because female characters exist, that does not mean they well-represented. There is about a 1:1 ratio of men and women in this planet, but most video games have women as minority, if there are any who are of any importance to the game at all.
Let's not use this to discount the fact that the problems that feminists are trying to address in the gaming community (ex. Marginalization, lack of representation, online harassment, sexist portrayals) are in fact, real and widespread.

Oh, the online community is horrible for it. I remember going into a stream and people heckling the girl for "views" and she kept asking them to stop. And as far as representation, I get sick of seeing gaming magazines with scant women in an attempt to portray a "gamer girl". I know beautiful women who play games, but they aren't the supermodels hired to chew on an NES controller. They're real, have emotions, and usually beat me at freaking Pokemon.
