Do you upgrade your boots into triforce?
I don't think building it into trinity forces is good. You don't always have the movement speed and if it isn't the core build for that champion, they cannot maximize the raw stats of the item and the spellblade passive, as it is one of the main reason people build it. Both PD and SS are good items? But mostly, they the fritz are useless to that champion or you will have too much crit chance as crit chance becomes less useful the more you have it
And as vynertje said, zephyr is much better. Most champions can utilize the Cdr from it and the tenacity is very useful as late game, CCs are the most reason that your carry is shutted down

it all depends on the boots and the champion really
If you got Berserker's Greaves and you are a ADC then Statikk Shiv or Phantom Dancer will work as your goal is to deal more damage and the extra Crit Chance will give you more chance to do so.
If you have Berserker's Greaves and you are the top lane then Zephyr is the best opponent since you want the Tenacity to help you in closing the gap on your opponent.
I suppose you could also use a Trinity Force as a replacement if you have someone like Poppy who can utilize it to her advantage quite easily
Meanwhile if you are in the Mid Lane and you wanna have extra damage then a Lich Bane will be a good choice.
To be honest the only boots I would keep if you build requires them is Ninja Tabi as they are something that can't be replaced by any decent item expect Doran's Shield but that would be pointless.

This reminds me of a similar conversation about Zephyr. For Trinity Force, you'll only be gaining MS while the Rage passive is up, but otherwise you'll be slower than normal.
The tl;dr conclusion we came up with is that you'll be losing too much MS for it to be worth it. When you need that ability to reposition and make the trek across the map so late into the game, all that extra damage might not even matter.
On top of Dragon's Flight's 5% and the available enchantments, you're missing out on a ton of MS, so there's even more reason now not to do it.
You can do it on Master Yi, though. 'Cause he's Yi.

I'm not sure what you mean here. As long as you're under 100% crit, adding an extra, say, 10% crit adds the same amount of expected damage whether you start at 0% or 90%. Plus, if you have any abilities or masteries such as Frenzy that give you bonuses when you crit, a higher crit chance means you will proc that effect more consistently.
I do actually switch out my Berserker's Greaves for Trinity Force frequently. Usually I feel comfortable doing it if I get some extra movement speed from some other items or abilities. Trinity Force will do more damage than Zephyr in most cases, but I can understand the desire to have Tenacity and 10% CDR.

Lategame, when the build is complete and you have way too much money I pretty much always upgrade Berserker's Greaves into Trinity Force...
But I don't see professional players do that... ever.... not even into Phantom Dancer or Statikk Shiv... :( Can someone explain why?
