Really well written guide. As someone who plays Urgot top I couldn't agree more. Good job!

To the person above me: use [[youmuu's ghostblade]] = Youmuu's Ghostblade

or [icon=youmuu's ghostblade size=30] =

2 items to consider are youmuu's ghostbladeand essence reaver (apologies for image size not sure how to fix)
they give urgot relatively nice stats that he does benefit from. youmuu's grants cdr and armor penetration which as you know are both great stats along with an active that gives him the movement speed that helps escapes. essence reaver is similar to bloodthirster in how only take if you know what you're doing but if you do then it helps because of the mana it gives back which really helps muramana stay active.

I like your guide. I only play Urgot in Normals (typically goofing around), but I do pretty well with him to the point that my win rate is much, much higher than my lose rate.

One thing I'll share that allows me to pull off my shenanigans freezing your lane.

Urgot is extremely good at freezing his lane and holding it right in front of his tower (without tower being attacked or attacking). Which means enemy junglers won't bother with you, and your jungler will have a field day ganking top because you're forcing your enemy to overextend for exp and gold.

You can last hit minions really well, (not to forget build tear). It takes a bit of practice, to figure out how to do perfectly, but you are completely shutdown by enemies that know better than to allow you to do this.

Also, when you're ready to kill, you just ult them into your tower range so it hits them 1 or 2 times, and you finish them off the rest of the way.

So you took a champion with 425 autoattack range and zero innate mobility in the toplane, and you plan on purchasing tear first and grant yourself little to no combat stats for a long while.

How do you plan on coping once a Riven dashes towards you to smash your face in? Or the fact that your Acid Hunter poke requires a blatantly obvious setup and Noxian Corrosive Charge is a mana eating monster that can be countered by going into a bush? You seem to be putting yourself up for one hell of a lane if you ask me.

Lastly, a third of your guide is a rant that takes up place and has no relation whatsoever with how to play the champion itself. Not only does it take up needless space, it also hurts the objectivity of the guide and thus the seeming validity of its information. I would recommend you remove, or at least greatly shorten it.

Thanks for the Criticism. I'm glad you posted this. The thing with Urgot is his power spike once you get Murramana is MASSIVE. It nearly doubles your damage. If you can get away with the lane I have set up (granted it is difficult to do and not the best in many situations) you will not succumb to the classic Urgot downfall and lose your damage late game.

One main thing you need to do is ABUSE YOUR RANGE. The trick is to never be close enough to the riven so that she can dash to you. Keep enough distance that you can back up if she charges you. If the enemy champion can bash you in the face when they get close to you you should try to farm and not aggravate them if you'll let you farm. If you try to all in you, poke them with Noxian Corrosive Charge and Acid Hunter when they back up.

There are 2 things I would like you to keep in mind as I attempt to defend myself :P.

#1 This guide works for me. It may not be the best for others but then again Urgot is not a champion that many can play. I have faced many a Riven and while I can't claim to have beaten all of them I have beaten the majority. There are few champions that I can't seem to beat very easily.

#2 this is my first attempt at a guide. I did not start this expecting it to be perfect or even that good. I found something new and interesting that I hadn't seen anyone else use. It worked for me and I wanted to share it as best I could with others. Thanks, though, for this comment I'll be looking to even out my guide and add more I ever just buckle down and do it. I may just remove the rant like you suggested.

I generally don't buy items for over 40% cdr (I think you meant cdr not cc). These are situational you might swap some out for others. However, I'd often take Frozen Heart, Black Cleaver, and Lucidity boots because they give only 5% cdr more than you can use. They are all very good items for Urgot. Like you build trinity on some champions that don't benefit from every single stat increase, it is still quite gold efficient and gives you stats you need.
