I'm a noob here, but I'll link you what is helping me.
These guys have a YouTube channel that is are classroom lessons on LoL. The videos are about a year old so some of the details have changed but the basic strategies have been real solid.
I have watched the basics videos and I've watched the ADC videos 2x each. I have learned so much!!! I have not watched the jungle video. The jungle has changed since they made this but I'll bet some of the basic strategies still hold.
Here is a link to their channel: Leaguecraft101 - YouTube
I'm sure people around here may have some better stuff, but this is a little something that has helped me.
It sounds like you actually had a fun game! Vi kept you on your toes!

Those are good lectures! I've listened to but not watched all of them if that makes sense (had some car trips of late so I listened to the lectures while out and about). They've informed a lot of the changes I've made to the way I play the game. Going back over the jungle lecture is definitely on my list.
Vi was keeping on my toes. Unfortunately, all my lanes were having a rough time so it wasn't quite as fun as would have been if things were going more evenly. Lanes losing and getting counter jungled. Bleh. XD
Well all you need to do is to ward the right entrances and trinket ur buffs if ur gonna steal someone elses. cuz honestly if you have the right jungle entrances warded there should be no way he can go in and steal your buffs without you being able to stop him, unless you're too far away.

A lot of the material is dated, however I found the guidance on lane taxing as jungler to be helpful.
Rough Outline of Taxing Rules:
*The reason you tax is because you are missing out on gold and experience you would otherwise be getting from the jungle if your were simply farming.
I was working out a rough rule of thumb and I think I will do something along the lines of:
And of course if you kill the enemy laner or force them out of lane then help your laner push the wave to the turret if they want to back, though this is not technically taxing.

Rough Outline of Taxing Rules:
- If your gank fails (e.g. you miss your Q as
Lee Sin and they walk away) then don't tax.
- Don't tax if your laner is behind (don't even soak XP if you can avoid it)
- Do tax if your gank was in some way successful but limit it it to 1-3 creeps.*
- Never take a cannon minion as tax

I was working out a rough rule of thumb and I think I will do something along the lines of:
- Blown Summoner Spell = 1 creep
- Significant Damage to Enemy Laner = 1 creep
- Blown Summoner Spell + Significant Damage to Enemy Laner = 2 creeps
- Kill = 2 creeps
- Kill + Blown Summoner Spell = 3 creeps
And of course if you kill the enemy laner or force them out of lane then help your laner push the wave to the turret if they want to back, though this is not technically taxing.
1) Buy cinderhulk enchant. Its stupid broken and allows you to help lanes more instead of being forced to farm.
2) If you can't stop her stealing your camps, just invade and swap camps.

I used to care about KDA, now I care about CS and Objectives.

In this particular case it was a full damage

It was an interesting enough situation overall that I decided I needed to bring more of a plan to my jungling. Hence the questions and research. Peeling back the layers, I can so far say that jungling well involves a metric **** ton of decisions of both the planned and on-the-fly variety. I kill camps. I gank now. Doesn't cut it beyond a certain level.

In short I got out jungled. So how do I get better? Are there any in-depth jungle guides that cover the finer points?
Baron - dragon control beyond just pulling off a successful gank and then opportunistically heading over there.
How to make the other jungler's life hell.
-counter jungling
-counter ganking
Something that can guide me in laying out a plan and modifying it as the situation warrants?
