Improve my PC thread!

I'm not going to be going anything heavy when it could graphics so an amd will be fine. From what I've been researching at too, amd new chip set is actually decent for gaming now. The compatibility problem is just a BIOS update. Nothing much. This ain't my final build however, I'm going to see what the prices will be when I actually have the money in my bank account to purchase the computer Edit. Nor is it honestly even relevant to the R9 280, because that card doesn't have a floating frequency or turbo.. The only thing that will "degrade" as it heats up is the sound level. Better than anything AMD.[/quote] Responding to this not because I care about your opinion or statements but rather because I want to give my pov on this: I prefer the R9 280 over the GTX 960 because of the 3GB vram. The VRAM can limit the amount of textures your system can run and this can make the game look worse. E.g. GTA V has problems running anything above medium textures because those high/ultra textures require lots of VRAM. Besides VRAM the performance of the two cards are about the same. Don't spend 40$ more on the GTX 960, it's not worth the performance increase. If I were to recommend anything though, get the 280x. Best price-to-performance card on the market right now (BY FAR): about as expensive as a GTX 960 but faster and with more VRAM. That has been made abundantly clear.[/quote] @ Graphics card: I don't have any personal experience with Gigabyte as I've stuck with Sapphire pretty much all my life but any triple fan solution can be manually tuned down easily and still produce very little noise. My Sapphire 290 also has a rather aggressive fan profile but can be tuned down without sacrificing temperatures in a significant way. I agree though that if you can flex the budget towards the Sapphire card I'd definitely recommend that one (as I've got one in the system I just built yesterday). @ RAM heatsinks: It doesn't really matter much. It's unnecessary but unless you're placing a big aftermarket cooler it doesn't hurt either. That RAM specifically is the cheapest reputable branded RAM out there if I'm not mistaken. @ PSU: 80+ Gold is nice to have but not necessary. I've never liked Thermaltake PSU's and ironically some guy on /r/buildapc had one break down on him two/three weeks after he went against my suggestion to go for a better brand. Also don't forget that the only reason it's at roughly the same price point is a limited-duration rebate.[/quote]
