Nice idea but I certainly won't be claiming one.
I'd always think I was you, especially if I took the right one, having seen it in your sig so many times now ;D.
Now all we have to wait for is shadows fiji to come along and nick one.... :P

Gah I want to rage at that guy on the signature test thread but i cant bump it...
So i'll vent out frustration here where a bump is ok :D. I wish people would drop that thread already... As for your sigs, please can I have a peek at the PSD for the one on the left? I don't want to modify or upload it anywhere else - I just want to see how you did the kind of effects you have. My main problem is failing to be subtle and it would be nice to have a look ;). Cheers!

Oh oops im so sorry, I only just noticed the bit saying you dont lend PSDs. Sorry!
I wanted to look because I cannot do subtlety. I just cant - usually my sigs are a blaze of multicoloural contrast and look horrible (in my eyes). So I was interested in how you do the blurs and textures that you have in that sig, and the small differences in lighting, for example.
It'd be nice for you to just explain if you cant lend out the PSD's, thats OK. I just thought having a glance would save you the hassle of typing a wall of text to an unexperienced guy ;).

No harm done :) I don't upload my files because they are easily downloaded by other people. Even if I make them "private" on a website like gamefront.com, people can still acquire them.
I use little blur actually. The only place I actually have blur is on the girl. She consists of 4 layers compiled like this:
Main: Color Fading
Main: Sharpen+Depth
Main: Basing+Sharpen
Main: Glow Reduction
The main background texture is a texture I made long ago. It was used in this picture. It's a compilation of brushes that I mixed together with all kinds of layer blending, styles, and effects.
I added some small things to the old texture, like sharpened it, and added some new layers of sky to the picture. I merged the four of them, added hue/saturation to make it appear as the bottom part of the picture was foggy/grainy. Set it as 'Overlay' with 71% opacity.
The small differences in lighting are just spots picked out that works well with the picture. I have one at the upper left, just to the left of her head. It brings more depth to her, and the texture. Not to mention it makes the entire picture more "alive". One other part of the lighting worth mentioning is in the upper right, behind the face. It made the face blend better, but also gave the picture more overall depth. This way it doesn't look as flat.
I've added several elements to the picture, like the face in the upper right, the orb with a dragon around the left side of it, the skull in the second dark circle, etc etc. Also brushed some directly onto the texture :)
Does that work?
