What I really hate is that you can now queue up with 4 players. That is just unfair towards the single player or teams with lesser teammates. And it is called SOLO QUEUE FFS.
Riot says that they have a system that will tend to match groups with more players with other groups with more players. If that's not possible, then the group with more players will artificially have their average MMR boosted for matchmaking purposes. Let's see how things work in practice before panicking about what is merely speculation at this point.

The biggest challenge that PBE players experienced during the first couple of days was that people didn't know that they had to hit the "pick" or "ban" buttons after they selected a champion. If they didn't, they would get booted out of champ select as if they had dodged and everyone else got sent back into the queue. So, for the first couple of days, players might have had to have experienced 3-4 champ select queues before finally getting into a game. This problem became less of an issue after a few days when people got used to the interface. Riot acknowledged the problem, but said that they wanted to keep the requirement to hit the buttons, because it ended up making the champ select process faster. (Because you don't have to wait for people who like to wait out the whole timer when they know who they're going to pick the whole time). However, they did say that they would make this requirement more clear on release.
I just played a game on the PBE and noticed that they added a dialogue box tip to the champ select to explain this. Hopefully, this will help spread the news faster.

Doesn't matter if you are alone with a 4 man premade, and they **** you because "but I wanted your role, we are 4 man premade, gtfo."

But they don't have to care about it because they are 4vs1. 4 reports vs 1, welp.
The champ select interface will tell everyone what their roles are and everyone will have their first or second choice of preferred lanes. If the group of 4 really tries to take your role just because they want to be *******s, then that will be clear from the game data and chat. So, it'll be one validated report for each of them versus four erroneous reports on you that will be dismissed.
This interesting thought just occurred to me:
Now that you can 4 man a ranked queue and all roles are basically already premade this opens up League for a whole bunch of stuff that worked in competitive 5s, except without the teamwork that exists in competitive 5s.. Want to go 4 supportish characters 1 ADC? Now you can.
Top Taric, Mid Lulu Thresh supp in a ranked game? Now you can.
Team with 3-4 juggernauts on it? Potentially, its not like people will complain.
Etc.

It's been said OVER and OVER that riot will always attempt to match the number of team mates/team. Also, they already up the mmr of queues for duoqueuers in case they went against a team without duos, which will probably happen to 3+ player queues, which will also help balance the "synergy".
I'll trust them until proven otherwise.
