It only costs 2350 gold, so if your entire team rushes it as a first item versus teams with ap champs you're sure to win the trades because even adc's have 1-2 abilities that rely on magic damage aha
You can sell it later anyway, it's only like stacking 5 doran's anyway. Ish.

Weeeeell False, the current meta in the LCK is
Rammus top, Naut mid, GragasJungle Kog'Maw ADC and Alistar support on both teams every game, and they can all use it, so an entire Abyssal Mask team could be the next big thing

except you know, the aura is unique, so at some point you are wasting that part of it.

I'd say that, even if she is a pretty strong solo laner during lane phase, she falls really hard as the game drags on and can only be a positive asset for your team if you got more damage dealers than what's usual in the current meta.
