is hextech gunblade good for irelia in general? would that be good after triforce? i typically go for blade of the broken king or randuin.

AP is a waste.. just build normal and play top lane, sure it may work in your normal bronze matches.

Is this really working? Or it's some kind of joke?

It works, but of course don't take my word for granted, the best way to be sure is to try it by yourself! Start with a bots game just to get familiar with the play style of AP , which is a bit different from an AD offtank , then when you feel confident enough play a normal game. You will be surprised by how much she can burst on AD and AP carries !

I tried it in bot game and yes i had insane damage but build is kinda confusing as there are many AP items. I still feel like maxing W is much better combined with Nashoor tooth and guinsoo together for insane attack speed. But then again you are squishy, so yeah E max first because of ap scaling.

Haven't tried it in normal/ranked. Also Trinity is much better than Lich bane for real.

I know that you have more damage to inhibitors/towers because of AP scaling but Trinity is a must item.

Yeah it's a bit messy I'll make the build section clearer. But the usual build is the one shown in the full build, the other items are alternatives. The core items are the for the insane spell vamp with , and to proc . I like to add for more sustain and to survive after bursting down the enemy carry.

My way of playing AP is as an assassin bursting down the enemy carry, that's why I prefer to max and first. In my opinion is more for sustained fights, and for this I feel that AD does a better job, because she'll have more health and lifesteal to sustain long fights. starts becoming interesting for AP late game in combination with or when she needs additional damage source because her combo isn't enough anymore on offtanks and tanks.

The main problem is that you can't have nashoor tooth and guinsoo together since you need health a bit. But W max is always on AD build so i understand why you max E and Q first. I don't wanna try this in ranked since games are really serious here and changing from AD to AP is a bit confusing for me. Old guinsoo was the best item for Irelia back then but yeah it's changed. Gonna try that Ap build in normals for fun at least.

Nah AP can't afford two hybrid items or she'll lose too much burst, I usually buy either or as the last item. I have a preference for the former as the cooldown reduction allows to spam the ulti at every teamfight.

And yeah never a good idea to try new things in ranked, better get familiar with it in normal games first :)

Why does everyone steal my ideas made a build very similar to this 10 months ago....

Very happy to hear to other people are also thinking outside of the box with unusual builds, but I guess I stole your idea before you even had it in your mind, as this guide was created in 2014! But if you want you could share your build with us, we all have our own builds that fit our play style :)
