p.s Great guide
Yeah, I only have DH up just because it's so busted right now, even with the nerfs, but it definitely is going to go back to electrocute right when DH gets nerfed again the next patch.
Hope it goes well for you in your games and feel free to let me know what runes you took and how it went!
And thank you <3
)
*Let us assume that we are level 9 and have leveled up Q 5 times, W 2 times, E once, and R once. We will also assume we took standard runes, meaning 7.8MPEN reds and 15AP. Lastly, we will assume that the enemy had 12MR from their glyphs and also got a Negatron Cloak, meaning they will have 82MR.
This shows the math for a standard combo of Q>E>W>R.
To explain the math a bit, I took the AP, magic pen, and magic resist we talked about and calculated what each damages were, and then added them together to see the total damage you would do with your combo. On the Abyssal side, I even multiplied the damage number by .10 because of the passive of Abyssal Mask (this is assuming you are even in 700 range the whole time for the passive to take effect).
You can see that Liandry's ends up doing more damage! This is why I prefer it, as your burst is a bit better and the health protects you against all types of damage. I also didn't add the burn effect damage, but that is pretty minimal. I also realized that Abyssal costs 350 less gold, but that shouldn't play TOO much of a factor because you can't buy any more AP with 350g anyways.
However, Abyssal Mask is still ALWAYS the better way to go if they have one or more big AP threats. I would personally just buy a Negatron Cloak and wait until later, but it's your choice. You can even get both if desired :P
Hope any of this helped,
-Luxeøn
Honestly, imo, if there were more MPEN items, it would be a HIT, just like lethality was before the buffs. AP just increases your overall damage with your spells, but reducing someones magic resist with magic penetration reduces their reduction to your spells, aka why I emphasize getting Void Staff when MR is being built by mostly everyone on the team in both my Lux guide and this one!
As for when you said 15AP matters a lot, Liandry's DOES more damage because it doesn't just give 20AP more than Abyssal, but that magic pen allows your spells to then do even MORE damage. This is why the item has gotten more popular, rather than just a Teemo buying it.
Anyways, again, hope all of this made sense and I wasn't just rambling :p
Good luck with everything <3

I'll preface this by saying I don't even own Syndra, so I won't focus too much on Syndra-specific things. I'm looking at the cheat sheet at the moment and I'm considering the choice of Ghost, as it's not often I see APCs with Ghost (unless they're Twisted Fate).
I think you could put the Alternative Items next to Core Items and just drop the GA so it'd fit.
For the notes in your cheat sheet, perhaps spend a sentence or two explaining. People sometimes don't have the time to read the entire guide.
For your ToC you could use the code [[nextcol width=25]] between the chapters instead of using invisible text.
If you're going for the purple and blue colour scheme, perhaps carry it throughout the guide for emphasis etc. So pros/cons could be purple and blue as opposed to green and red.
*solo queue
I like the formatting for your "Other Rune Choices" more than the list format of the first section. Maybe you could do something like (quote me for coding):
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.
I wouldn't explain masteries not to get unless there's a real reason you need to explain why. *double edged sword
I would order summoner spells by preference/importance and make it obvious which spells are a must and which ones are match-up situational.
Don't forget to center your videos!
*mercury's treads
I reckon the match-ups section is pretty impressive and I wouldn't hide them behind spoilers!
All the best :)
Cheers,
jhoi
As GMD explained, ghost actually works very well. It can't be used as a 'I messed up, get out of jail free card' like it used to, but it's still realllly good, especially for kiting. Hmm I honestly never even think of the cheat sheet and just want my guide to be detailed so people understand, I'll have to work on the cheat sheet and even go look at my Lux guide to see what it says there as well.
Finally, YES I was trying so hard to find a coding for using more than one rune on a line and that's perfect, thank you! I literally spent two hours trying to fix that one error and I just gave up on it lol.
I'll be sure to update this and I appreciate the feedback, as always <3

You hide match-ups behind spoilers, because otherwise it gets cloggy and you create a massive wall-o-text, so no.
Now here's an elaborate greeting that is not there at all to drag out this comment whatsoever: May a squadron of magnificent *****es find their way to your various orifices, if you so please, by day's end.
You are most welcome,
G, M, ****ing D.
As for that elaborate greeting, I literally rep'd you just for that, 10/10 would experience again.

Hey @ RikudouDovahkiin
Yes, you are right for sure! However, the ones he mentioned use ghost quite nicely! Ghost was super popular in season 6 and still is very popular, especially in pro play. Pro play is a little different though ofc because they normally take Ghost or Cleanse, rather than other SS's due to the circumstances, but I think it has died down a little since the 'nerf'. I know I personally look Ghost on Lux because it got me out of sticky situations FAST, but now I don't use it as my main summoner spell anymore due to the ramp up (but I know Lux isn't a meta champ at all). Anyways, back to Syndra!
10/10 would recommend buying Syndra. I really do think she is in such a good place right now. Her W true damage is honestly insanely strong right now!! People don't realize the W damage and are more scared of her ultimate. As for Ionian Boots of Lucidity, I should definitely add it to the guide! Those with Morellonomicon/ Zhonya's Hourglass/if you took CDR runes can really give you the cap! However, watch you don't do all 3, as you'll have more than max CDR and it might be a waste. I think another reason is because her cooldown of her ultimate also got pushed up a bit, so maybe they want it back faster? Not too sure on that one, I am the damage type of player so I will always prefer Sorcerer's Shoes unless anything else is needed.
I prefer Liandry's Torment because it gives her health and more burst damage, and mid game, her job will be to burst the enemy mage or ADC down if she can get a pick. This can be hard with things like MR, Heal, a healy support, but the extra damage kicked in with the grevious wounds to counter that healing should score the kill. In teamfights, she will actually have AOE CC with her W and possibly E every 5-10 seconds, so it does make Liandry's Torment worth it. The health also protects you from attack damage/ap/or even true damage, rather than just magic damage from Abyssal. However, if you don't like it, don't buy it!
Abyssal Mask can be really good, but you have to watch when you buy it. It's better to buy it later on if you need the MR because it's more of a scaling item- as I explained with a link in my guide (you can totally get Negatron Cloak early if you need it!). It's a really good 'offensive AND defensive' item to buy, but first or second item is eh. It's especially eh if you dont even need the MR. Abyssal is a very nice item though, and that's why I still have it in my alternative items and I encourage readers to buy it if needed because it almost did make it into the core! If you don't like Liandry's, just trade it out for Abyssal and boom :)
I actually updated the guide with an 'itemization' section explaining kinda what to buy in situations because every game is different. Some games, I don't even get Liandry's Torment and stuff like that.
Anyways, I hope all of this made sense and helped and I thank you for reading my guide!! I hope you pick Syndra up because she is such a fun and unique champion and have a blast with her :)
See you on the rift!

Reals though, it's strange how columns act differently in guides, comments and in the forums. Thanks
JoevWayne ^^(wtf.....)
One time, my friend was suppose to Vayne adc and I was suppose to Syndra mid- we forgot to switch. I went AP Vayne mid and he went ADC Syndra and it actually owned. Would not recommend but its funny as hell. Anyways, thanks for your comment(s) and cheers!
