In the US, the so-called "trans panic" defense in still legal in many states. Someone could murder you in a bathroom and claim they panicked/flew into a blind rage/etc because they realized you were trans and could be given a lesser charge in court due to that, it's happened in the past. I suggest looking at the case of Islan Nettles, for example, whose murderer was only charged with manslaughter because he claimed to fly into blind rage after his friends made fun of him for trying to pick up a transgender women. He beat her so severely she ended up in a coma and later died. Would you be willing to risk that?
A common argument I hear about transmen, sadly from women at times (TERFs, to be specific), is that they want a taste of male privilege, something else that's pretty stupid to argue. Yes, indeed, transgender men often find that they are taken more seriously for the same ideas, paid more for doing just as good of a job as they were doing before, and many other things, but only once they pass as male.
The problem with both of these arguments is that it forgets that the only transgender people treated very well at all are those who quickly pass as cisgender. For many of us, there's a long road ahead where we can't access HRT, let alone any sort of surgery, so we sit in a non-passing state where we are at risk for even existing. No one is going to take hormones and get body altering surgery for the things you're talking about and they would have to. Here in the US, we put more value on SRS than anything else in many states.
