It is like a little mini game to set them up for the hard fall. I also like that you can often 2 v 1 their laner and their jungler if you play your cards right. I've been starting fairly conservatively. [[Doran's Blade]] into most match-ups. [[Doran's Shield]] if I think I'm going to get poked a lot. Occasionally [[Cloth Armor]] against someone like [[Pantheon]]. Some people start [[Cull]]. You actually get more healing from it than Dblade because of your passive. Their is a D2/D1 Urgot/Sion main that starts cull but they also go 12 points deep into the right side of the cunning tree for Meditation. I tried that start vs a [[Nasus]] and it didn't go too well, however I was trying to be uber aggressive with my Q spam which invited the jungler to gank me early. Next game I had vs a Nasus (the very next game), I went back to 12 in the Resolve tree with a Dblade start and first bought an [[Executioner's Calling]] and I fared much better. Haven't tried starting [[Corrupting Potion]] though some people say it is viable to run it in a poke lane where the enemy is not running DFT (say Quinn or something that is running TLD).[/quote]

A bit of last hurrah with [[Swain]] before they rework him. Earned mastery level 6 with this game. The [[Riven]] didn't know how to play against [[Swain]]. Which is basically if she stuns you before you get your ult off she wins. This used to be an easy match-up when Beatrice stayed tethered to the original target, but when Riot increased Swain's ult cool down significantly and modified Q so it stays in one spot, allowing Riven to easily shield the damage and dash out or on to you depending on her preference, the match-up became hard. This was fortunate because it allowed me to get huge and with most of my team dead I got to pick up quite a lot of farm and they didn't build a lick of magic resistance verses me or [[Morgana]] which made the difference in the last few fights. I'm really looking forward to the [[Swain]] rework as he is a champion that I've always liked to play, but he has virtually always been in a weird state of strong in some situations, but there are often champions that just do what he does better. Hoping some of the new possibilities for skill expression in his pending kit update change that.[/quote]
