Oh, and why is manamune needed on burst corki?
Burst corki=Triforce, Manamune, etc
Focuses on bursty harass with rockets, phosphorus bomb, and occasional triforce proc autoattacks
Dps corki=standard DPS build - I-Edge, Last Whisper, etc
Focuses on playing like a regular carry, mainly autoattacks, doesn't use the skills all that much aside from gatling gun
Burst corki is much better at taking down towers and poking away at the enemy team. He excels against turtling enemies, especially in those tense scenarios where a 5v5 is about to break out at a tower, Dragon, or Baron. Those rockets just continually harass and force one of three scenarios:
They don't initiate, get initiated on when they're all at half health, and lose.
They don't initiate, one person goes back to heal, and the resulting 5v4 costs them the game.
They are forced to initiate in an unfavorable scenario and usually lose the team fight.
In the last scenario, burst Corki can simply back out and keep poking.
You need Manamune on Corki because otherwise, he doesn't have the mana pool to keep up continued harass with his rockets.

most of corkis damage comes from skills, so i don't understand the whole "burst or dps" thing, you do both at the same time
manamune is so corki does damage early / mid game, he does no damage at all until he gets triforce (and rushing it is generally bad) if you don't get manamune (and even then, by lategame with manamune, all the extra attack and spamming of your skills really helps for lategame poking/burst)

I actualy grabbed Manamune on Ryze tonight just to try it out, and I have to say I wasn't very impressed. It helped me push towers harder while my team turtled, but I would have preferred a team fight then push the towers as a team.
The only reason I did it was because we had a bad team comp (Our "tank" was Garen) and we couldn't really win a team fight against what they had.
Ended up losing, but I pushed all the way to their Nexus with Manamune! Haha.
In the end I don't support it, though.

I would if you want to pubstomp or troll, though! But, that is a different story. Heck, you could get both Manamune and a Tear if you really wanted to mess with people.
