The guy who was in the finals in that tourny quiet recently that you linked for me I think... that ryze player who was playing ryze (:P) well phreak and that dood said that once he has banshee forzen and all that **** he gets a manamune much later

I think manamune is only viable early game and should be sold later kind of like a x2 Avarice blade build except well manamune doesn't stack money, what i am saying is manamune is alright on new ryze but only in the early game phase. It does have it's uses i would think example would be easier last hitting.

The main appeal about Manamune is that it increases your max mana quicker than Archangel's Staff does, because it scales off autoattacks, so you reach that +1000 mana faster and you therefore deal more damage. At least in theory it does - I'm not sure how practical this is.

why on ryze early game lol it's late game that he has 5k mana.
manamune sucks, i hate it.
The theory behind it is that late-game, it's not useful because you're a nuker and your Q is on a 1.5 second cooldown anyway. Early game it helps with last hitting and gets your max mana faster, hence making you a better nuker, hence feeding you more gold.

Think about it. His AP scaling is ****, yet he typically ends the game with upwards of 4,000 mana.
That's another 100 attack damage from Manamune (80 from the passive, 20 base). In addition, it's cheaper than Archangel's Staff and gets your max mana up faster, so it indirectly makes your spells stronger.
The only time I suppose that you'd prefer AA Staff is when you get a Lich Bane. Manamune gives you stronger base attack, an easier item to rush, gets you to your max mana pool faster, and is cheaper.
Discuss.
