Do you think mental state can have a big impact on games?
I'm not referring to playing while angry or something similar, that much will obviously negatively impact your games. I'm referring to smaller differences in your mental state, like some sort of pessimism or defeatism.
Been a while now that I'm not terribly comfortable playing this game. My lack of skill has given me a weird sense of inferiority so when I finally decide to play, I sort of feel like "ugh this is going to suck". Just yesterday I hopped in a game because I wanted to try out a build I found here that I liked and sure enough the game went downhill really fast.
So this brings me back to my original question. A clear mental state is important for this game, as any other, but do you people think that even small differences in your mind like this one can actually affect how you play?

As for small differences, having doubts even the smallest can be enough to set you back and set-up for failure. Hope I made sense, hope you improve and enjoy League of Legends. If you need any help, feel free to Direct Message me.
If you are not confident in your mechanics just pick things that not require so much and are viable in meta, from your pic i will assume you are main support, so champions like Yuumi or Nami are relative easy to pick, and are more of decision than acutal mechanics (but missing nami ult will not help at all even if you had good intentions casting it)
Or if you are a good mechanic player but bad on taking decisions go for pyke, he's very forgiven when missplayed in lane phase and extremly rewarding when doing a good play.
Not only your own performance and mentality. Your mate's mentality will also have an impact, unless all types of communication have been blocked. It's important that you have a clear mindset, as well as your team, to play a good game. If you have a single doubt already in Champ select, just quit. You can do that as often as you want. Maybe you would've won that game you just quit, maybe not. But the important thing is, that you got rid of your doubts.
