I want to say that i was having trouble early on using this particular character. I ran many of the "other" guys ideas on Nocturne to find that they seemed to be lacking in some way or another (early Mana issues, slow build, slow DPS, etc.). I took your build, and as I usually do, modified it to fit my particular play-style. It was your build that gave me the info I needed to see through to better game play. I usually now go with this standard item setup: Dorans Blade, Boots of Speed, Avarice Blade (get early to help make coin before used to make the Ghostblade), The Brutalizer, Berserker Boots, Catalyst Protector, Youmuu's Ghostblade, Banshee's Veil (Double shield with Shroud of Darkness!), Starks's Fervor (here it is go-go time, unbelieveable damage output), Atma's Impalar.

Atma's Impalar isn't a necessity as anything can be added at the end of gameplay tha fits the need. One thing that many players forget is that once your inventory is chalked up with the best goodies, drink potions at the vendor--this gives you even a bigger boost!

Finally, so important is the mana regen seals...made the difference of being able to hold the top lane in 3's against any combatant and should not be skipped.

After many frustrating losses I have now won the last six games in a row with Nocturne. I made a snip-it of the wins but I don't have a place to put the pic at the moment.

Thanks again!

Good build, seen a few people go with it, and do great. Always positive, and when they ult, I know someone's dead.

I found the flaw in the extra attack speed on this build. I wasn't paying attention apparently, because if I had been, I would have caught this. The guide should now reflect this.

As for the doran's blade, you are right again. Better choice. HP, AD, and some lifesteal is better than the long sword.

Guide now also reflects my use of exhaust, with the correct point in masteries.

Thanks for the positive feedback. As for the exhaust, that was a change i made yesterday and forgot to reflect it in my masteries. As for the phantom dancer, what would you suggest for a replacement?

I will test out dorans blade and make the appropriate changes.

Check back on the build later and let me know what you think.

First off I can emphasize how much stacking attack speed isn't necessary. It's overkill.

The build shows you at 80% end game, which does not include Masteries, or your Passive. (That would total over 100%?)
As rule of thumb, 60% is the cap for when you want to hit really fast. It's applicably superior to hit three times for 500 damage each, then to hit five times for 300 damage each within the same time frame, as it gives them less room to kite.

Maybe this is a mistake, but you don't get the Exhaust mastery in the Offensive tree.

Lastly, if you're going to lane with Nocturne. A Doran's Blade would be a far superior starter item. Giving almost the same amount of AD with a good junk of health and the life steal synergizes with your passive.
It makes for a very strong lane, presuming you don't take too much harass.
