So it should be mentioned that with the new changes they made it where if you don't actually have CC you get exchanged to first strike from glacial. a great build ruined by a dumb decision from riot.

It's a real tragedy this way of playing Gwen is defunct, and I suspect that Riot is directly nerfing Gwen support for being too good. We've been sworn enemies ever since I forsook the meta. Not to worry though, League changes all the time so there will always be a new way for Gwen to support season to season. An update is in the works for a new era of Gwen support, but the old build will be preserved in the guide as testament to the Glacial Era.

would frostfire gauntlets be a good replacement for Zeke's? you implied that it was partially to appease your partner in bot a bit. so if you doing well then I feel like it would be a good substitute if you are roaming around the map.

would this work in top? or should i just stick with the ap/as build

Your love for your adc should be unconditional, so if we're playing support we simply must have their best interests in mind. Zeke's works excellently with Everfrost because you're giving a damage buff on a group of rooted enemies. Everfrost simply beats out Frostfire Gauntlets as the mythic choice because it gives us a decent amount of AP and lets us root and slow at a range, which is important because we won't always be able to get into melee range. Slows don't stack, so this build is about keeping an enemy slowed over a long period of time while you and your adc run them down. Frostfire Gauntlet only provides a 25% slow and is redundant since we take Glacial Augment and Rylai's, both of which have stronger slows so they'll take precedence over it. This means that Frostfire Gauntlet is actually kind of useless compared to your other slows. The main stats we want to focus on is AP, health, armor, and cdr. Frostfire can make you decently tanky (and a big lady), so you could make a tankier build with it if you want to focus more on the armor and resist stats. With the current build, you end up with 3k health and about 70% physical absorption on top of the solid damage reduction from Frozen Heart, so I don't think it's worth taking less AP for a tankier build. Concerning top lane, everyone who plays top are miserable because they play top. I suggest you consult other guides if Gwen support is simply too fun for you to handle.
