Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
Me. I am the greatest threat. If you see me in your game as Gwen support then it's already over for you.
Aphelios
Aphelios is about as tough as he looks, so a stiff breeze is enough to topple this guy. We recommend fighting him every time he is alone. Your Glacial Augment and stacked Q will let you run him down like the wet paper bag he is.
Draven
Every Draven player that I've met have tried to imitate a better, cooler Draven player that they've met. Their overblown ego is about as worn out as the n, i, g, e, and r keys on their keyboard, so clown on them and execute pinpoint insults to keep them typing in /all chat instead of farming.
Ashe
Ashe *was* the queen of slows until you showed up. Her autos and W slow, which is cute. Slow her to an early grave and use the "Was that me?" emote to rub it in even more. We don't concern ourselves with has-beens.
Caitlyn
Caitlyn is such an insufferably boring champion to play that we can consistently count on Caitlyn players to be daydreaming while they go through the motions. This allows us to avoid all their damage with W and engage on them. They'll just sit there drooling while they wonder where their damage went.
Ezreal
Everyone who plays Ezreal only has one real goal: to hook up with a Lux support gamer girl. There is no exception to this rule. This is the only guide you'll find on here that recommends catfishing to win. Do what you have to. If you're actually a girl and you're reading this then, uh, h-hi👉👈
Jhin
"They call me mad. All artists are mad." -Jhin with his useless art degree from Ionia Community College
Jinx
Flat as a board.
Kai'Sa
Since Kai'sa was a little girl who survived in the void into adulthood, and she has an Australian accent whereas her father Kassadin doesn't, we can assume that the void is just Australia. That explains a lot, actually...
Kalista
No one on this planet actually plays Kalista, so you don't have to worry about her.
Lucian
Can't even look after his own wife, how does he expect to look after his lane? We recommend taking a page out of Thresh's book and building 100% wife steal.
Miss Fortune
Miss Fortune's ultimate skin is cheaper than the others. Why is this? We can only assume Miss Fortune has inherently less worth than the other champions. She shouldn't be too much of a challenge.
Samira
Samira can't make up her mind whether she wants to be a ranged champion or a melee champion. Use this confusion to your advantage by eating all her ranged damage with W and rendering her wind wall useless with your Q. Should've made up your mind before you queued up, cyclops.
Senna
Senna spent 6 years inside Thresh's lantern, which we assume doesn't have a shower, so she must reek. We have every right to call her stinky in /all chat, so that's exactly what we do. I've yet to encounter a Senna that has managed to recover from such a maneuver.
Sivir
Sivir's greatest strength is her mobility. It would be quite unfortunate if there was some deranged lunatic building exclusively slows. That would be disastrous for her.
Twitch
Do everything you can to get them mad. Like really mad. We want them to say mean things about us so we can nail them for violating the Twitch Community Guidelines. Even more effective if you are female.
Varus
Make fun of Varus's ponytail. Every Varus player is insecure about it. This is a little known weak spot of theirs.
Vayne
Vayne players thirst for the third stack of their auto and will do anything and everything to get it off. Bait them by getting hit 2 times and using W to eat the third. Denying them their rush of dopamine will make them enter an enraged trance and they will begin making mistakes that you then punish.
Xayah
There's two possibilities with Xayah. The first is that they're edating with their Rakan support. How can you tell? Trust me, those two will make sure the whole match knows. Sow the seeds of doubt into their relationship and kick off the beginning of the end. You might not win the game, but you'll score a far more severe victory over them. If they're not with Rakan, make them reflect on their loneliness for critical damage.
Kog'Maw
D'aw, wook at the wittle koggy woggy! He's so cute I could just W out of all his damage and Q him to death!
Yasuo
Yasuo adc? How dare people play outside of the meta? The nerve!
Tristana
Body size and brain size are proportional, so Tristana has one of the smallest brains in the game. If you see how they use their W sometimes you'll believe it.
Aphelios
I love this funny little moon man. I can't imagine what it must be like to be mute and in a 24/7 skype call with your sister. If you've earned your Masters degree in Aphelios Combos like any self-respecting League player then you'll be able to understand the options he has with any given weapon combo. When he has an engage combo, keep your cooldowns to follow up. When he has a damage combo, switch over to engage. He's made of paper, unfortunately, so this combo is only strong if the Aphelios is very good.
Ashe
The Accursed Duo. The Slow Slaughter. The Harbinger of not moving as much. Ashe and Gwen is a disgusting combo that will drive any you face to madness. Ashe has the benefit of applying slows with her autos in the early game, which we can't do until we get Rylai's much later into the game. This lets us get more fully stacked Q's off and dramatically increases our dps if we hit with true damage.
Caitlyn
Caitlyn can take advantage of your slows as well as any other adc, but she has far better synergies with support champions that have immobilizes as key parts of their kit since she can extend it with her traps.
Draven
Gwen is Draven's dream support. You can keep enemies in his auto attack range longer than other supports can with roots since your peel is spread out over a longer period of time. When an enemy tries to flash out of Draven's range you can close the gap with E and continue applying slows. Though, this is Draven we're talking about, so they'll probably just overextend and flame you for picking Gwen support.
Ezreal
Ezreal prefers tank and enchanter supports that can soak up damage or heal him while he tries to get pokes off. Your slows only make it easier for him to hit abilities, but if he's already good at aiming then he doesn't get much use out of them. He fights from a distance and can keep up with most escapes with his E, so keeping the enemy in one place isn't as helpful as heals or buffs for him.
Jhin
Jhin's staggered auto attacks means he can only get so much damage off before he has to wait to attack again. Most enemies want to get away from Jhin when he has his 4th shot, so he greatly appreciates (if he isn't rude) slows that keep the enemy in range. Gwen also provides a guaranteed W when she hits enemies with Everfrost. If they are immobilized and Zeke's Convergence procs, then Jhin can extend the root and empty out a disgusting amount of damage with his autos.
Jinx
I mean, hey, if you need a flat surface to write on she's got you covered.
Kai'Sa
With your slows, Kai'sa can usually fully stack plasma in trades before the enemy backs off. This damage adds up and through attrition the enemy will be forced to back off. Another benefit of your slows is that Kai'sa won't need to ult to chase enemies as much and can instead use it to juke enemy abilities. This effectively gives her an extra flash in fights, which a good Kai'sa makes excellent use of.
Kalista
Someone would have to actually play Kalista for me to say anything about her synergy with Gwen...
Kog'Maw
The main concern for Kog'Maw is keeping the enemy in range of his autos to take advantage of his high attack speed, so your slows are a godsend for him. Facilitate the bullet hosing and you'll have a very happy void puppy on your hands.
Lucian
Lucian is highly aggressive and light on his feet, so your slows and dash will help bring out the nastiest trades you'll ever see. Set one or two enemies up and he'll bulldoze straight through them.
Miss Fortune
Miss Fortune has enough movement speed to chase down enemies herself, so what she really needs is hard cc to keep enemies in place when she ults. You can certainly do this with Everfrost, but there are other supports better suited to what she needs.
Samira
Samira is a crowd fighter but doesn't have many options to stay close to the enemy during her styling and ultimate after she dashes in. Luckily, Gwen is also a close combat fighter who provides sweeping slows, so this is a match made in heaven.
Senna
Senna appreciates slows so much sometimes she'll take Glacial Augment herself to help farm stacks and chain into her root. Gwen's slows only help with this more, so this combo is rock solid.
Sivir
The Mistress of Mobility and the Queen of Slows together in one lane just means that the enemy goes nowhere while you two go everywhere. While she doesn't need slows to keep up with the enemy, it does let her take better advantage of her solid attack speed and makes it easier to get the full back and forth damage of her Q.
Tristana
Tristana is a blast to play with regardless of what support you pick. Gwen's slows let her get more damage out of her Q and stack more of her E while enemies are kept in her effective range. This makes a big difference when her jump is on cooldown and she can't close the gap on her own.
Twitch
Twitch appreciates anything that lets him stack more poison and get more autos off during his ultimate, so your slows help him output more damage. The problem is that Twitch is allergic to getting engaged on and since he's so fragile early on you're not going to have a strong start.
Varus
Varus is Ashe without her slows, so playing with him will just make you wish you were playing with Ashe instead. He can provide all the peel he needs on his own, so he prefers supports that can keep him alive in tight situations.
Vayne
Vayne's entire existence is putting three funny rings around the person she wants dead, so supports that can keep the enemy in range as much as possible is all she could ever ask for. Indulge this little stack addict and keep her on top as she scales to end up with a monster late game.
Xayah
"You're not a Rakan eboy with a weak chin and a high sodium diet. Not interested."
Yasuo
"Is it a knock up? Knock back? Or likewise an instrument of vertical displacement of which I'm a master at engagin'?" "No, it's a slo--" *Returned to queue*
