Hi,

FIrst off I want to thank you for your guide! Also, I went Seraphs's Embrace quite a few times and I didn't really get bad results. Why do you advise against going Seraph's?
I am currently in Bronze IV so maybe it just doesn't really matter in my elo. Still though, I want to build the habit of buying correct items so the game gets easier.

Hello!

So fisrt of all, Seraph's Embrace isn't bad Item for any mages including for Viktor. It's good to have into some burst champions or against champions who is manaless and can give you a shield when you are close to death. However, Viktor doesn't have mana problems especially once you get Mythic Item. Seraph's Embrace should be bought on champions like Anivia, Aurelion Sol, Cassiopeia, Kassadin, Orianna. These champions have serious a lot of mana problems early on and their abilities have high amount of cost mana and have short cooldowns. Without this Item, they won't be able to spam abilities a lot in late game.

Just like I said before, Viktor isn't a mana hungry champion. His high cost mana ability is Hextech Ray but that is not issue later on after you have few Items. Perhaps, you bought this Item because you want to stack your mana in late game and you want to spam your abilities even more. And also, Bronze players are really bad or they are just new players. So, if you want to buy Seraph's Embrace, you can go for it. I have nothing against this Item. Just be careful, if you fall behind and you don't have much gold for upgrade, you won't be able to do much in late game.

If you got any questions, feel free to ask! And good luck climbing in higher ranks! :)

Hi,

What do you think about picking "Approach velocity" from inspiration tree?
After evolving w, it always gives you %15 ms when moving towards to an enemy champion.

No, it's not good on Viktor. Yes, it does gives you bonus Movement Speed but even if you do gain buffs, a lot of enemies like most mobile champions will manage to escape and ignore your slow. I would just recommend to use Cosmic Insight instead of Approach Velocity.

Man, the match-up section is too good👌
It is the perfect upgrade.

Wondering what your thoughts are on choosing w to augment 2nd?
Tried to find a section on your thoughts. I'm finding it's very impactful for the team to have the enemy slowed with by q to set up ganks. Also, your E to help with zoning.

had to pick up victor again. Haven't had this much fun since that item that broke the meta with his infinite slows. Guaranteed e2.

Love your your guild.

Thank you for your kind comment.

About 2nd augment upgrade on Gravity Field after Hextech Ray? The answer is no. It's not useful early as you will not be able to kite enemy champions without upgrading your Siphon Power. It's still best way to upgrade your Gravity Field last after your have upgraded your Siphon Power and Hextech Ray. That being said, you should upgrade first Hextech Ray for a fast waveclear and shoving your opponent. Alternatively, you can also choose Siphon Power to upgraded it first if you want to kite enemy champion or run from nasty situation but I would only use against some melee champions. And then last upgrade should be always Gravity Field. Once again, upgrade order: E > Q > W.

If you got any other questions, feel free to ask. :)

I don't believe it's truly good item on Viktor. It's very good scaling item and you become more tanky but the problem is it doesn't give you Ability Haste unlike other Mythic items for mages and scales slowly. I still prefer to build Luden's Tempest, Liandry's Torment or Crown of the Shattered Queen depending how the enemy team looks. I will still look to write about Rod of Ages when to build it on Viktor but for now, I prefer to build the older Mythic items.

Turns out Viktor top lane is pretty good too! You will get to trigger first strike very often against most of match ups and make their life miserable. So even if you don't kill them, you sure will be farming ahead. Which can give you an important lead when reaching mid game and you gank other lanes. Thanks for the guide!

Thank you for your comment!

I really don't think Viktor Top is viable as this guide is mainly focused on Mid lane. I only play Viktor in Top lane against some champions like Kennen, Rumble or Teemo to counter them or if I am against Irelia in Mid lane, then I swap with my Top laner because I really, REALLY hate Irelia so much as she is my hardest counter as a Viktor player. Yes, you may have an advantage against most melee champions but some champions have a lot of mobility and can engage on you. Also, Top lane has large distance than in Mid lane so if you are near enemy tower, you will be ganked easily by their enemy jungler and you won't be able to escape since Viktor has no mobility. It's not bad for Viktor in Top lane but he benefits much better in Mid lane.

Once again, thanks for your comment! :)

Awesome guide, I was wondering how you deal with matchups like Akali. I've heard high elo players saying Viktor is a lane bully and should often be pressuring rather than freezing to keep prio. I don't understand how you don't get assassinated playing aggressively as all it takes is one Akali E or all in from an assassin to die. Thanks a lot.

V1kt0r555 (2) | September 20, 2022 2:42pm
Thank you for your comment. So about question dealing against Akali. Well, there are 2 options. You can play aggresive to win lane with Rune Summon Aery or you can play for scaling with First Strike (you can still play aggressive though but it depends how Akali players plays). Viktor is a lane bully but he is pretty weak in the early game and has mana problems until you get Mythic item. A lot of High elo Pro players takes Summon Aery (or even Ignite together) to bully melee champions such as Akali or even ranged champions to win their lane. Keep in mind that Summon Aery doesn't scale well into late game but First Strike scales so much better and gives you free golds. They do the best to get early kills by consantly poking their opponents. They also know how to dodge or pretend to dodge her E Shuriken Flip. If they have managed to get few kills without getting camped by their enemy jungler or support, you will win the lane and the enemy will be behind. If they didn't managed at all and the enemy assassin like Akali is ahead especially if she has roamed Bot lane and got kills, then she gets a lead. It highly depends how they play. You cannot always win the lane every single game. Often you win but often you lose. That's how it is.

What I do against Akali. I do my best to bully her pre 6 by poking her with my abilties. After lvl 6, I keep distance and farm and poke her with Hextech Ray and not giving her free kills. I always ward somewhere to see where is she roaming. Usually I farm to scale for late game with my Rune First Strike. Akali isn't late game champion as they will be tankier and start to build defensive items. She also doesn't do well if your team is gathering together and has tons of CC which she hates a lot.

That is my tips against Akali. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me anything. Once again, thank you for your comment. :)

I was planning to do that but when I try to add, it doesn't show up. I will ask my friends or other people how to excatly do that and in the future, you will be able to see rune pages for each matchups and in other guides as well. I am also making a new guide (not going to tell which one) but it will be finished a month or so, I have other things to do in my life. Thank you for understanding and I will do my best to add rune pages what you asked. :)

This guide is heavy with information and it's written in a pretty easy way to understand! It is just incredible! I'm especially in love with the huge matchup section. Thank you so much for this guide, bless you! I was going through a champion drought and I finally found a really fun champion, but I admit, being not very good at the game in general and picking up a hard champion will take a long time to fully grasp Viktor. Two things though:

1. I really have difficulties landing my E. Is it purely because of my stupidity or is it just naturally harder to land correctly? First time I tried Viktor I thought I had my smart cast on...
2. (it's not only about Viktor) I saw that you made other guide for champs such as Malzahar (who's my main). I agree with putting Irelia as Viktor's top threat, but I really, really struggle against Syndra, no matter the champ I play. Everywhere I look she's below average or bad in rankings, but she seems to never miss her disgusting stun and then pummels me into oblivion. You stated Syndra as a "Normal" threat. How do I exactly deal with her? She's almost spamming her abilities like it's ARURF...

Thank you for your kind comment and bless you too! So, about the 2 things:

1. Hextech Ray is really hard to cast especially for new Viktor players. Viktor is pretty hard to play. If you are casting your E, make sure that you first press E, then use your right mouse on direction which way you want. The target range is 550 but if you use your range with your right click, it has maximum up to 1050 range. Once again, click E, then press right click from your mouse where you want to hit then release. You can even cast it while moving. If you still have problems, you can find a lot of videos from youtube, there are a lot of Pro Viktor players how they use it. It's really hard to use with smart cast which I don't use it at all. You can practice it in Practice Tool in Training. Keep practicing it and you will have an easier time with it but be patient, most players are complete nervous and don't wanna do training at all. :)

2. Syndra isn't too difficult to deal with as Viktor. It's a skill matchup. It also depends on your jungler and how good Syndra player is good. Yes, she can be pain due to her long range abilites but her biggest weakness is she is squishy, immobile and has mana problems early if she spams a lot of her abilities. To beat her, you always want to make sure to dodge her Dark Sphere as it is her main ability. Never use your Siphon Power on her when her Scatter the Weak is up. She will use her Dark Sphere on you and then stun you with Scatter the Weak and then throw her ball or minion on you with Force of Will and you will be near 50% HP. Bait her Scatter the Weak and then use your Hextech Ray and Siphon Power on her to win the trade. Keep dodging her Dark Sphere (it has 4 second cooldown]] and poke her with Hextech Ray. Early Boots can help you to dodge her abilities. If you struggle, just let her push and ask your jungler to help a lot but be careful if you are going on her and you are below 50% HP, she can finish you off with her abilities if she manages to stun you. And always watch her dark balls on the ground, she will deal even more damage with her Unleashed Power. Save your Gravity Field when she is going to engage on you. Place her on her and if she gets caught, quickly unleash your power and run away from her. Don't forget, you can move your Arcane Storm by clicking on her and it will follow her but is gets slowly the far you are. I hope this will help you. I also struggle often because jungler camped me a lot. But that is how it is. If you are not comfort with Viktor, then assassins are your best friends against her: Akali, Ekko, Fizz, Irelia, Katarina, Qiyana, Yasuo, Zed. These champions are very good against Syndra since they have a lot of dashes and Yasuo has a Wind Wall to block her abilities including her Unleashed Power.

So, yea, that is all my explanation. If you got any other questions, feel free to ask me. And good luck! :)
